Apache Synapse (or Enterprise Service Bus) is a lightweight, high-performance Enterprise Service Bus. Apache Synapse is powered by a fast and asynchronous mediator engine and provides exceptional support for XML and Web Services. Apache Synapse supports many content interchange formats including plain text, binary and Hessian. Synapse can communicate with many applications and transport layer protocols thanks to the wide variety of transport adapters it has.
