2ndLine Description

2ndLine is a mobile application that provides users with an additional phone number, allowing them to make free calls and send messages, and is accessible on Android devices. This service utilizes your WiFi or data connection to enable an extra line on your phone. To get started, simply download the app, choose a phone number, and you can instantly enjoy unlimited calling and texting from this new line. 2ndLine operates over your device's existing internet connection, facilitating communication with numbers across the US and Canada. Importantly, the recipients of your texts and calls do not need to be users of 2ndLine to interact with you. During the initial setup, you'll be prompted to select an area code from either the US or Canada, after which you can pick a number from a selection available within that area code. It is essential to keep in mind that 2ndLine only offers numbers that are registered in the US and Canada. Should there be no available numbers in your chosen area code at the moment of signing up, the app will allow you to select a number from the nearest area code. This flexibility ensures that you can get a second line even in less populated regions.

    Terrible

    Date: Nov 26 2024

Summary: Terrible! I really wish I hadn't used this for my business!!! I feel like a fool. Do more research than I did.

Positive: I got excited on the few days the service did work... But that was not going to last very long because it does not work reliably.

Negative: The service does not reliably work. It does not text the way you think it will! If you send it a text, it will send you back a garbled link from a spammy other number your callers will not recognize. They will not allow you to port your number. The service is unreliable and support doesn't care.

    Crappy app

    Date: Sep 24 2023

Summary: Crappy. They don't know what they doing and don't care. They refuse to put any effort into the app and unlike other apps, refuse to update it, so the problems continue. All these apps seem to be of low quality, but at least other apps are occasionally updated. I would not recommend using this app.

Positive: Does work sometimes but most times cuts off in mid call. When I contacted them, they made the excuse that it was my internet, but I have Verizon Internet with 300 Mbps, which is more than enough! Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it don't.

Negative: Calls constantly drop off, hard to reclaim codes, they are LAZY OR INCOMPETENT and don't want to update the app to fix bugs. App is way overrated.
