Description
Vaultion addresses a fundamental issue in transactions between unfamiliar parties: the need for one party to take the initial risk. To eliminate this uncertainty, Vaultion utilizes a secure smart contract that holds the payment, ensuring it is only released when all agreed-upon conditions are satisfied.
The process is straightforward: the buyer deposits funds into an escrow using a stablecoin—options include USDC, USDT, DAI, or PYUSD—after which the seller fulfills their part of the agreement. Once the buyer confirms receipt, the payment is released. In the event of a disagreement, the funds remain secure while an independent arbitrator intervenes to make a decision. This arbitrator can either be Kleros, a decentralized court composed of randomly selected jurors, or a human reviewer supported by Vaultion, whose decision is subject to a challenge window before any funds are transferred. Additionally, a guardian with freeze-only authority can halt any dubious ruling without the ability to redirect the funds, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process. This innovative approach fosters trust and security in transactions that might otherwise be fraught with risk.
