Description
Any organization involved in the manufacturing, distribution, purchase, or application of chemical products is required to create and utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels that meet the safety standards set forth by the relevant regulatory authorities, which may include local and regional entities. The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), established by the United Nations, serves as the worldwide benchmark for SDS documentation, although it has been customized to fit the legal frameworks of various countries. TotalSDS aims to enhance workplace safety and protect the environment by streamlining compliance processes and chemical documentation practices. Current software solutions for SDS or Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are often antiquated, cumbersome, and demand extensive manual input from experienced personnel. As global regulatory frameworks become increasingly intricate, relying on traditional methods for SDS creation without the aid of specialized software has become inefficient and impractical, highlighting the need for modern solutions in this critical area. Consequently, the evolution of SDS software is essential for ensuring compliance and enhancing safety in the handling of chemical substances.
Description
Valenc serves as a cloud-based platform for creating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensuring chemical compliance specifically tailored for chemical manufacturers. This innovative tool not only imports safety data sheets from suppliers but also leverages artificial intelligence to extract and organize product details while enhancing records with essential chemical and regulatory information. Furthermore, it utilizes a deterministic GHS rules engine to accurately classify hazards associated with various substances. For each product record that has been classified, Valenc produces SDS sections and language variations that comply with specific jurisdictions, drawing from a well-curated library of phrases. A designated review agent marks fields that require human attention, enabling selected users to thoroughly review and approve each sheet prior to its release. Additionally, the platform keeps track of regulatory updates, promptly flagging any affected sheets, and offers options for SDS exports alongside a REST API that facilitates access to product information while integrating with ERP, PLM, or other bespoke systems. Currently, the authoring capabilities are extended to regions including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the UN module, encompassing support for over 25 different languages. The comprehensive features of Valenc ensure that manufacturers can maintain compliance and streamline their SDS authoring process effectively.
