Description

MacDown draws significant inspiration from Mou, and I strive to replicate its features and functionality closely, implementing changes only when I believe they enhance the user experience. Some of the standout features include a customizable Markdown rendering engine, syntax highlighting for fenced code blocks, and advanced auto-completion capabilities. While MacDown welcomes pull requests for aliases to existing languages, it does not accept submissions for new syntax highlighting rules. If you are interested in contributing additional language definitions or themes, please head over to the Prism project page to submit your ideas. Once your pull request is approved, I will ensure that updates from Prism are incorporated into future releases. This collaborative approach not only enriches MacDown but also strengthens the community around it.

Description

PlainMark Editor serves as a native Markdown editing tool specifically designed for Mac, iPhone, and iPad users. This application enables writers to create and modify standard Markdown documents, offering a choice between a source view that includes syntax highlighting and line numbers or a formatted display, all while maintaining the same document and selection during view transitions. Its formatting features encompass headings, bold and italic styles, links, lists, block quotes, and code snippets. Users have the ability to open and save .md files, work offline with documents saved locally, and export their work to a variety of formats, including paginated PDF, PNG, DOCX on Mac, as well as HTML, RTF, plain text, or Markdown. The app is tailored for creating notes, drafts, articles, documentation, and README files, allowing users to do so without the need for an account, cloud service, or subscription. As an added bonus, it can be acquired through a one-time purchase applicable to all three platforms: Mac, iPhone, and iPad, making it a convenient option for users seeking a straightforward Markdown editing solution.
