Description
KaarbonTech serves as an innovative tool for managing infrastructure assets, transforming geographic and inspection data into actionable insights that enhance decision-making and mitigate risks for highway networks and associated assets. By linking assets with their environments, it provides users with a comprehensive, data-oriented perspective on condition, usage, and maintenance requirements, thereby facilitating the validation of asset conditions, auditing of fieldwork, and the creation of precise asset inventories that ultimately boost productivity, maintenance standards, and work efficiency. The platform features tailored modules like Gully SMART for monitoring drainage conditions and flood risks, Tree SMART for assessing tree health, Grass SMART for managing greenspaces, and Grit SMART for tracking grit bin usage and public interference. Additionally, its robust map-based visualizations and seamless data integration empower organizations to engage in proactive maintenance planning while ensuring effective communication between office and field teams with up-to-the-minute information. This dynamic approach not only streamlines operations but also fosters a more sustainable management of public assets.
Description
PAVER is a pavement maintenance management system that emerged in the late 1970s to aid the Department of Defense (DOD) in overseeing the upkeep and repair of its vast pavement assets. By leveraging inspection data alongside a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) that ranges from zero (indicating failure) to 100 (indicating excellent condition), it effectively captures pavement statuses and forecasts future maintenance and repair requirements. The PCI for airport pavements was formalized as an ASTM standard in 1993 (D5340-10), and similarly for roads and parking lots in 1999 (D6433-09). PAVER™ conducts various analyses to ensure the effective distribution of maintenance and repair resources. The system's development has received backing from organizations such as the US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, Federal Aviation Administration, and Federal Highway Administration, emphasizing its importance. Furthermore, Colorado State University provides training and technology support services for non-DOD users, enhancing its accessibility. During inspections of concrete pavements, the software also enables users to create graphical representations of individual concrete panels, thus improving clarity in reporting findings. Overall, PAVER plays a crucial role in maintaining pavement quality and ensuring efficient resource utilization across various sectors.
