Description

Jean serves as an open-source development environment that enables developers to manage AI coding agents across various projects, whether local or remote. This platform consolidates features like repositories, Git worktrees, agent sessions, terminals, and code review into a unified desktop application, utilizing a browser interface that can be hosted on either the user's machine or a Linux server. It allows developers to create distinct worktrees tailored for specific issues and pull requests, execute compatible agents concurrently, analyze diffs, and utilize Git tools for code review and commit preparation. Additionally, Jean integrates seamlessly with GitHub and Linear workflows while supporting various integrations, including Sentry and CodeRabbit. It is compatible with coding-agent command-line tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, Cursor Agent, and Kimi Code. Jean is designed to cater to both individual developers and software teams aiming to streamline agent-assisted workflows on their own machines or servers. This innovative tool not only enhances productivity but also fosters collaboration among team members in a structured programming environment.

Description

boxd offers developers, engineering teams, and AI-agent applications access to persistent Linux virtual machines. Each virtual machine operates with its own kernel and features such as SSH access, a public HTTPS address, and persistent disk storage, allowing for the execution of software requiring a comprehensive computing environment, including Docker, systemd, long-running agents, and development servers, all within an isolated setup. Users have the ability to fork a live machine along with its memory and disk state, enabling them to experiment with alternative approaches without having to rebuild the entire environment; additionally, idle machines can enter a hibernation mode while preserving their disk state. Management of these machines is facilitated through SSH, a command-line interface, an API, and SDKs in Python and TypeScript. Organizations can easily integrate with platforms like GitHub, Linear, and Slack for enhanced collaboration. boxd can be operated as a managed cloud service located in Frankfurt, or it can be self-hosted on Linux infrastructure that supports KVM, with free deployment options available for configurations up to 16 vCPUs. Practical applications for boxd include cloud development environments, AI-agent test beds, background coding assistants, and staging environments for previews. This versatility makes it an excellent solution for teams looking to optimize their development workflows.
