We provide access to both print and eBook titles, along with the necessary assets through Bowker, Ingram, and Baker & Taylor. Pioneering the development of an ONIX-conversion application, we have established strong relationships within the industry, collaborating closely with bookselling partners, associations, and key influencers in the book sector. Since the year 2000, we have catered to the diverse needs of publishers, ranging from the largest to the smallest in the industry. Our innovative ONIX-conversion tool, JacketCaster, holds the distinction of being the first application designed to convert title information effectively. Additionally, our commitment to fostering connections within the literary community continues to drive our mission forward.
Description
ShelfPublisher is an online platform designed for authors who have finalized and print-ready paperback manuscripts. Once authors gain access, they can purchase a publishing slot for a single book and upload both the interior PDF and cover via the website. After Orbita Media conducts a review of the submitted files, it allocates an ISBN from its publisher block, publishes the approved titles under its own imprint, registers essential book metadata with bibliographic databases, and manages print-on-demand production along with wholesale catalog distribution that reaches over 50,000 bookstores across 18 countries. Retaining their copyright, authors receive 30% of the net revenue from each copy sold for single-slot titles, with some subscription options providing even greater revenue shares. Sales reports are provided on a quarterly basis, and each publishing slot is valid for a duration of 36 months. This service eliminates the need for a print run, inventory purchases, or additional fees for ISBNs, making it an accessible option for authors looking to publish their work. By simplifying the publishing process, ShelfPublisher empowers authors to focus on their writing while effectively managing the business aspects of book publishing.
