MODRET is a user-friendly interactive software designed to compute both unsaturated and saturated infiltration losses from stormwater retention and detention ponds situated in unconfined aquifers, utilizing a modified version of MODFLOW. In addition to its primary function, it offers several distinctive features: it can create single watershed stormwater runoff hydrographs by employing methods such as the SCS unit hydrograph, Rational method, and Santa Barbara urban hydrograph, while also providing a graphical representation of the outcomes. Furthermore, MODRET allows for the routing of these hydrographs—whether generated by the software or sourced from elsewhere—through the infiltration losses of ponds and the creation of infiltration-routed hydrographs. The software also enables users to specify various overflow devices, including weirs and orifices, along with rating curves for the ponds, facilitating the calculations of total volume and peak discharge rates.
