Logbooks for Guns is an online software solution designed specifically for Federal Firearms Licensees to manage their records. Since its inception in 2011, this platform has enabled dealers, collectors with Curios & Relics (C&R) licenses, manufacturers, and importers to document over a million firearm transactions through an electronic acquisition and disposition (A&D) bound book. Firearms are entered into the system using barcode scanning, while the exit process involves completing the ATF Form 4473 on a computer or tablet, with the NICS response meticulously documented on the form. Businesses have the flexibility to maintain distinct logs for different purposes such as consignment, gunsmithing, pawn, or NFA items. Importantly, the system preserves the integrity of records by retaining original entries alongside any corrections made, and it allows for the entire book to be exported for ATF inspections. Each member of the team can be assigned specific permissions, and existing records can be easily imported from spreadsheets; additionally, a REST API with webhooks facilitates integration with point-of-sale and e-commerce systems.
