Description
The Document Naming Manager (DNM) is a Windows application designed for local installation, aimed at providing a consistent and rule-based approach to file naming. Users have the flexibility to select or modify naming conventions, whether they want to add files one by one or utilize a watch folder for automation. The software allows users to review proposed filenames before saving changes, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Notably, it incorporates local optical character recognition (OCR) and document previews, along with features that identify potentially problematic filenames and naming conflicts. To enhance user experience, it also offers a Recovery Vault feature for undoing recent saves, which is subject to specific settings and storage constraints. Both naming and OCR processes occur on the user's machine, ensuring that documents remain private and are not sent to the cloud, thus avoiding reliance on cloud-based AI. However, an internet connection is necessary for activation, license validation, and software updates. DNM caters especially to industries such as legal, strata and homeowners associations (HOA), accounting, insurance, construction, and various office environments that require uniformity in document naming conventions. By streamlining the process of naming files, DNM helps users maintain organization and efficiency in their workflows.
Description
FileToFolder adds three commands to the Windows Explorer right-click menu. FileToFolder makes a folder for each selected file, named after the file, and moves the file into it, whether you selected one file or a whole batch. FolderToFile brings files back out of their folders into the current folder, optionally digging through sub-folders, and removes the empty folders left behind. Dissolve lifts a folder's contents up one level and deletes the folder. On Windows 11 the commands sit on the first page of the context menu, with no "Show more options" needed; the program also runs on its own and takes command-line options for scripts. A licence is a one-off US$19.99 with free minor updates and a discounted price for major releases; there is a free edition and a fully functional 7-day trial. Windows 7 SP1 to 11 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and above. Email support, answered within 24 hours. From CodeLine in Australia; current release 7.3, September 2026.
