Description
CosmOS is an innovative operating system centered on artificial intelligence and serves as an intelligent orchestration platform that was initially created by Humane and is being further developed by HP IQ, the AI innovation division of HP dedicated to infusing contextual intelligence into various devices. In contrast to conventional operating systems that depend on users to manually manage app workflows, CosmOS is designed around a network of specialized AI agents, complemented by an “AI Bus” orchestration layer that facilitates the seamless flow of information between hardware, models, and services, enabling the system to predict user needs, carry out complex tasks, and provide contextual support without requiring users to open separate applications. Additionally, it supports a variety of interaction modes including voice, text, vision, gesture, and touch, which allows for a more intuitive and fluid user experience while the system continuously learns from user behavior to tailor its responses and evolve over time. This sophisticated approach aims to redefine how users engage with technology, making it more responsive and user-friendly.
Description
Cosmos is an AI-powered software engineering orchestration platform developed by Augment Code to manage autonomous agents throughout the software development lifecycle. It enables organizations to create automated workflows that coordinate coding, testing, code review, deployment preparation, and incident response activities. The platform uses specialized agents called Experts, which can be configured with specific responsibilities, tools, execution environments, and organizational knowledge. Its Context Engine analyzes software repositories to provide agents with relevant information about application architecture, code relationships, and implementation patterns. Cosmos supports event-driven execution through triggers such as pull requests, issue updates, monitoring alerts, scheduled events, and webhooks. Engineering teams can configure workflows that investigate development tickets, implement code changes, execute verification steps, and prepare pull requests for review. The system maintains shared memory across agents and workflows, allowing information from previous executions to inform subsequent tasks. Security and governance features include isolated execution environments, scoped credentials, role-based access controls, audit logs, and human approval requirements. Cosmos connects with development and collaboration platforms including GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, Slack, and Microsoft Teams to support automated engineering processes.
