Description

Carbon Language is an innovative experimental successor to C++ that aims to deliver performance on par with C++ through the use of LLVM, while also providing low-level access to bits and addresses. It allows seamless integration with existing C++ code, supporting features such as inheritance and templates, and facilitates rapid and scalable builds that align with current C++ build systems. The language is grounded in solid foundational principles, making it particularly accessible for those familiar with C++. Additionally, it offers straightforward, tool-based upgrades between different versions of Carbon. With a focus on enhancing safety, it provides an incremental pathway towards a memory-safe subset, addressing some of the common concerns associated with traditional C++. Ultimately, Carbon is conceived not merely as an evolution of C++, but as a successor language that prioritizes interoperability and aims for widespread adoption by enabling a smooth transition for existing C++ developers and codebases.

Description

Establishing embodied carbon targets from the start of a project is crucial for prompt analysis, reporting, and achieving tangible outcomes. Our web-based platform is utilized by design teams, property developers, and industry professionals to facilitate sustainable design choices at both building and precinct levels. The Footprint Company is dedicated to assisting the property and construction sectors in reaching their Net Zero Carbon goals by 2040. A significant portion of the climate change challenge, specifically 50%, can be addressed by cutting the embodied carbon intensity of all buildings in half by that year. We strive to clarify the concept of embodied carbon by providing accessible, high-quality carbon data right when it's needed for decision-making. Our objective is to empower designers to achieve excellence and innovation in low-carbon design. We accomplish this by minimizing both the cost and complexity of reaching Net Zero carbon design, integrating the latest research and presenting it in an understandable and actionable manner. By simplifying the process, we aim to inspire a broader movement towards sustainable construction practices.
