Description

CLIAnywhere is a versatile remote terminal tool designed for developers, system admins, and other individuals who require shell access to their Windows, macOS, or Linux systems from an iOS or Android device or through a web browser. The application features a host daemon that maintains terminal sessions on the computer, enabling users to disconnect and reconnect or switch between mobile and desktop clients seamlessly without losing any progress. Users can connect multiple PCs and terminals to a single account, enhancing flexibility. Additionally, CLIAnywhere includes a file browser that allows for downloads and access to localhost or private LAN web applications hosted on the computer. Connections are established using peer-to-peer networking when feasible, with an encrypted relay as a backup; this setup eliminates the need for a public IP address or port forwarding. The host daemon operates under the Business Source License 1.1, allowing free personal and internal use, while commercial resale or hosting necessitates a separate licensing agreement. Users can enjoy a free mobile tier and have the option to subscribe to an ad-free experience for enhanced usability. Furthermore, the application aims to provide a user-friendly interface that caters to various user needs.

Description

Rio is a terminal application developed using Rust, WebGPU, and the Tokio runtime, aimed at delivering an exceptional frames-per-second experience while also providing the flexibility to minimize GPU usage. The terminal's rendering engine utilizes a Redux state machine, ensuring that unchanged lines are not redrawn, thereby prioritizing a minimal rendering process most of the time. Furthermore, Rio is crafted to be compatible with a WebAssembly runtime, paving the way for future enhancements such as customizable tab systems through WASM plugins written in various programming languages. Additionally, Rio employs WGPU, which serves as a WebGPU implementation designed for non-browser environments and acts as a backend for Firefox’s own WebGPU implementation, allowing for a more efficient utilization of modern GPUs compared to WebGL alternatives. This focus on performance and customization makes Rio a versatile choice for terminal users seeking both speed and adaptability.
