The Wekinator is an open-source software that is available for free. Initially developed by Rebecca Fiebrink in 2009, Wekinator 1.0 laid the groundwork for subsequent versions. In 2015, she introduced Wekinator 2.0, which featured a complete overhaul with enhanced interactions, new algorithms, and seamless connectivity to various creative coding tools and sensors. This updated version is regularly maintained to address bugs and incorporate user feedback. With Wekinator, individuals can harness machine learning to create innovative musical instruments, gestural game controllers, and systems for computer vision or audio recognition.
