Description
BentStudio serves as an online platform for designing timber and log structures, catering to various projects ranging from small garden sheds and pergolas to larger cabins, workshops, and timber barns.
- Create your design: begin with a choice of timber-frame, post-and-beam, or dovetail log-wall configurations. Adjust measurements, sections, roof shapes, trusses, dormers, and lean-tos while the model reflects your changes in real time.
- Review your project: seamlessly transition between 3D views, floor plans, and elevation sketches. Examine details closely, focusing on joints, notches, supports, and individual components.
- Prepare for construction: save different versions of your project and generate a PDF drawing package complete with timber lists, cutting coordinates, and a modifiable project file.
Accessible through a desktop browser, BentStudio also offers an offline HTML download option. The cost is a one-time payment of CAD $199 for a single Studio license, with no recurring fees involved.
It’s important to note that BentStudio functions solely as a design and layout tool, rather than a structural engineering service. This makes it an ideal choice for creatives looking to bring their timber building visions to life without the complexities of engineering calculations.
Description
FRILO is a comprehensive software suite tailored for civil and structural engineers, offering an extensive array of calculation, verification, and modeling tools essential for evaluating the load-bearing capacity, stability, and serviceability of various components and entire structures, including those made of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and in the realms of foundation and geotechnical engineering, all in accordance with Eurocodes and relevant standards. Its modular design features specialized applications for specific tasks such as beams, columns, plates, and soil mechanics, facilitating component-oriented calculations through user-friendly inputs and reliable outputs, which streamline the handling of routine structural engineering tasks while providing thorough documentation. Furthermore, FRILO enhances its functionality with tools like BIM-Connector interfaces for seamless importation of analytical models from IFC/SAF formats, a Document Designer that simplifies the creation of reports compliant with industry standards, and it regularly updates to keep pace with evolving standards, workflows, and material libraries, thereby ensuring engineers have access to the latest resources.
