Description

Apache Pulsar is a cutting-edge, distributed platform for messaging and streaming that was initially developed at Yahoo! and has since become a prominent project under the Apache Software Foundation. It boasts straightforward deployment, a lightweight computing process, and APIs that are user-friendly, eliminating the necessity of managing your own stream processing engine. For over five years, it has been utilized in Yahoo!'s production environment, handling millions of messages each second across a vast array of topics. Designed from the outset to function as a multi-tenant system, it offers features like isolation, authentication, authorization, and quotas to ensure secure operations. Additionally, Pulsar provides configurable data replication across various geographic regions, ensuring data resilience. Its message storage relies on Apache BookKeeper, facilitating robust performance, while maintaining IO-level separation between read and write operations. Furthermore, a RESTful admin API is available for effective provisioning, administration, and monitoring tasks, enhancing operational efficiency. This combination of features makes Apache Pulsar an invaluable tool for organizations seeking scalable and reliable messaging solutions.

Description

Axon Server is the system of record that stores your event stream and helps you make sense of it. In an event-driven architecture, events are the source of truth. Each change in state is saved as a permanent fact that carries its business meaning. That approach puts pressure on infrastructure in ways conventional databases were never designed for. As volume grows, performance drops, workarounds break, and systems become harder to control. Engineered for throughput conventional databases can't match: Relational databases do a great job with transactional work. Append-only event logs that reach billions of records are a different problem. Axon Server was designed specifically for this workload, so it avoids the index upkeep and slowdowns that general-purpose databases run into as they scale. Events pushed to you, without polling: Event-driven systems need architecture designed for them from the ground up, not features added onto a generic platform. Events are pushed over persistent gRPC connections as soon as they're committed. Aggregate-level optimistic concurrency keeps updates from being lost. A global sequence makes every replay deterministic. Less operational overhead, faster recovery: Each service connects to Axon Server and registers the commands it can handle. The server keeps track of routing and sends traffic where it needs to go. When a service relocates or scales out, routing adjusts on its own with no config changes. It's the service discovery you'd get from a service mesh, minus the operational burden. Trusted in highly regulated industries: In financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure, an incomplete answer to an auditor can cost millions. Axon Server keeps an immutable event log with complete business context, so compliance
