Agent Communication Protocol (ACP) is an open standard created to solve interoperability challenges between AI agents operating across different frameworks and platforms. The protocol establishes a common communication layer using REST-based APIs, enabling agents to exchange information through familiar HTTP patterns. Organizations can use ACP to connect agents regardless of the underlying technology stack, reducing the need for custom integrations and framework-specific connectors. ACP accommodates a wide variety of content types through MimeType-based messaging, allowing agents to share text, multimedia, and specialized data formats. The Switch rooms seamlessly connect to popular messaging platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Mattermost, and Telegram, enabling participants to engage with agents effortlessly without the need for additional installations. Agents can easily be invited into these rooms, communicated with directly, and utilized across various teams without the necessity of rebuilding them for each new workspace. The platform is compatible with existing agent frameworks and providers, including Claude Code, LangChain, Google ADK, OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, and custom agents, facilitating coordination within the same shared environment while avoiding migration issues or vendor lock-in. With its user-friendly design, Switch promotes a more efficient and collaborative atmosphere where human ingenuity and artificial intelligence can thrive together.
