Safeguard your data while it is being transferred using Snowball's durable design, built-in logistics, and secure, tamper-evident packaging, ensuring efficient delivery to the intended destination. Within the AWS Snowball console, choose your desired device, which could be either the AWS Snowball Edge Compute Optimized or the AWS Snowball Edge Storage Optimized. Initiate a job linked to an Amazon S3 bucket, opt for Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) to monitor progress, and set up configurations such as Amazon EC2 AMIs. AWS will then prepare and dispatch the selected device to your location. Upon receipt, power on the device and utilize AWS OpsHub to unlock it for use. Connect the device to your local area network, and leverage AWS OpsHub to manage it, facilitate data transfers, or launch EC2 instances as needed. Once Carbonite Migrate is installed, the administrator simply selects the source and target servers using the console interface. They can opt for different data migration methods, ranging from fully automated cloud orchestration workflows to a more hands-on approach utilizing the comprehensive SDK. This flexibility liberates users from being tied to any specific hypervisor, cloud provider, or hardware. The cutover to the target environment can either be triggered manually or set to occur automatically right after the initial synchronization is finished, ensuring a smooth transition. Additionally, the ability to manage and monitor the entire migration process from a centralized console enhances operational efficiency.
