OpenIndiana is an operating system developed for the illumos community, originating from the UNIX family of operating systems, which can sometimes present a level of complexity. Like many UNIX-based systems, it can be entirely managed through a Command Line Interface (CLI) shell, while also providing support for a graphical user interface (GUI) system.
