Examino is AI grading software that helps teachers grade handwritten and typed papers faster, while keeping full control over the final grade. It works across every subject and level, from middle school to higher education: essays, math problems, science reports, language exercises, case studies and more. The AI grading adapts to each teacher’s assignment and rubric.
Importing papers takes seconds. Teachers upload a batch PDF from the school copier, which Examino automatically splits into individual papers, or import photos, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. They can also scan papers with their phone through a QR code, with no app to install. Adding an answer key or course materials is optional and helps the AI understand what is expected.
For each paper, the AI drafts a grade and detailed feedback, criterion by criterion. The teacher reviews them, adjusts the grade or comments as needed, and approves the paper before exporting annotated copies and individual reports to Word or PDF. A class overview shows the whole class’s results at a glance.
After grading, Examino identifies the class’s recurring difficulties and generates targeted practice exercises for students.
More than 30,000 teachers use Examino for AI grading, and over 500,000 papers have been graded. The app is available in English, French, German and Spanish.
Pricing: 10 free papers a month, then individual plans from $7.50 a month. Schools and universities can equip all their teachers with AI grading licenses, managed from an admin space where an administrator creates accounts and assigns licenses.
Examino is GDPR-compliant and hosted in Europe. Student names are removed automatically, and student work is never used to train AI models.
