Microsoft SharePoint is a great project team collaboration tool

    Date: Aug 20 2021

Summary: The Pros far outweigh the Cons in MS SharePoint. Before SharePoint managing and sharing project documentation was less user and team collaboration friendly...like we would just use some common network drive or share or even a backup tool like OneDrive...all of which worked, but they weren't as well integrated into other project team collaboration tools like a team home page on SharePoint.

Positive: MS SharePoint is a great tool for project team collaboration. You can easily create a project team home page to store and share relevant documents, announcements, progress reports, and team information like contact list and organization charts.

Negative: Ironically, like most Microsoft tools, MS SharePoint keeps gaining functionality which is great, but then sometimes the basic things get more complicated because there are so many options. An example is that sometimes functionality that I use most often get buried into a "menu" or "layer" or something moves to another location unexpectedly...especially since as a SaaS solution the change can happen overnight.

    Date: May 31 2021

Summary: Sharepoint is the perfect business multi-tool. It can adapt to anything you want it to do. That flexibility comes with less hand-holding and guidance. Out of the box your users won't like it. Put the effort for customization in and they won't use anything else. -Has become a solid online business platform since its start (over 10 years ago)
-Has the ability to be customized to fit any business' purposes

Negative: -Due to its high level of flexibility, it does not provide ease of use, or guidance
-large 3rd party addon market can be overwhelming
-One has to go with the upgrade migration paths

    Automate workflow and content management.

    Date: Apr 05 2023

Summary: Microsoft SharePoint is that it is an excellent content management and collaboration tool that can benefit any organization that needs to store, share, and manage information. However, it is not a simple or inexpensive solution that can be used without proper planning, training, or support. It requires a lot of resources and experience to take full advantage of its features and capabilities. Therefore, I would recommend Microsoft SharePoint to organizations that have a clear vision of their goals and needs, as well as the budget and staff to implement and maintain it.

Positive: It offers a robust ecosystem of third-party integrations that can extend its functionality and enhance its value.

It has improved its user interface and ease of use over the years, making it easier to create, share, and access content across sites and devices.

It provides a high level of security and compliance features such as version control, retention policies, records management, legal holds, electronic discovery, and auditing.

It supports multiple document libraries, lists, calendars, wikis, blogs, forums, surveys, and other types of content that can be customized and organized according to the needs of each team or project.

It enables real-time collaboration and co-authoring of documents with internal or external users, as well as commenting and voting capabilities.

It allows users to create workflows and automate business processes using Power Automate or other tools.

It has a powerful search engine that can help users find relevant content on sites and documents, as well as customizable search capabilities for advanced users.

Negative: It can be expensive and complex to implement, configure, customize, and manage, especially for large or distributed organizations. May require experts or consultants to ensure proper use and adoption.

You may have some errors or crashes while creating or editing SharePoint pages or documents, such as the inability to change the number of columns or insert images.

It does not have a desktop or app version that can be used offline or separate from the browser. It would be helpful to have a separate option with more features that align with Microsoft Office.

It can be difficult to keep things organized within SharePoint, especially when there are multiple sites or libraries with similar or overlapping content. It would be helpful to have more options for filtering, tagging, or grouping sites or content.

Best option for greater productivity mastery

    Date: Jan 10 2021

Summary: It is risk free and is also an excellent alternative to shared drives. You can go ahead without a doubt. Eliminates the danger of losing information or documents. It is an excellent alternative to our shared drives and protected in the cloud storage space that can be accessed from any type of device.

Positive: Sharepoint is the best option for our shared drives. It is easy to upload or download any type of file. It's smooth, just like the user interface is clean. Its combination with Microsoft office applications, such as Word and Excel, makes it simple to check or modify documents with one click. We can conveniently share our data with shareable web links or perhaps send an email directly to the target person. We can send an alert to our group when data is sent and also ready to use. Files and folders are safe, as well as protected by Microsoft web servers, which eliminates the danger of losing vital files or data on unlikely occasions.

Negative: The search feature is a major disadvantage in Sharepoint. Most of the time, we won't see the expected result with your search feature. Moving or replicating files from one folder to another is a lengthy procedure, we require that we go all the way from the root folder to find our destination folder.
