ItemStage is an innovative mobile software designed for pack-out and contents restoration, featuring built-in chain-of-custody proof directly within an operational restoration facility. With the ability to scan serialized barcoded items, teams navigate through customizable stage-gated workflows, including Intake, In Chamber, Inspect, and Pack-Back, ensuring that required photos and checklists are completed at each step. The system also allows for the recording of item dispositions, such as Green Tag, Red Tag, or Red-M, while enabling a quick export of a comprehensive, audit-ready chain-of-custody record in PDF format along with an image archive. The platform mandates that no evidence is overlooked; thus, photo documentation and checklist completion are essential checkpoints, guaranteeing that every item departing the facility has an extensive, defensible record. Reporting functionalities provide insights into throughput by both team and stage, and the mobile application operates efficiently in offline mode, catering to both trailers and warehouses. At Millers Restoration, ItemStage effectively manages the daily contents workflow, having processed over 10,059 items from February to July 2026, accumulating more than 118,000 photos, with a remarkable median processing time of just 12 minutes across all stages. The pricing model is structured per facility and accommodates unlimited users, with the web application currently available and iOS and Android apps pending store approval. Furthermore, the integration of such technology not only streamlines operations but also enhances accountability and transparency in the restoration process.
