Blocknox GmbH, a subsidiary of Boerse Stuttgart Group, is responsible for the custody of cryptocurrencies on an escrow basis. This service was launched in late January 2019 initially for BISON app users and was later expanded in late September 2019 to accommodate users of the Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange (BSDEX). Blocknox has designed and implemented a robust multilevel security framework for the safe custody of cryptocurrencies. In the future, blocknox aims to extend its custody services to institutional clients, including fintech companies, banks, and asset managers, allowing them to leverage blocknox’s trusted custody solutions as foundational elements for their own digital asset services. In light of the legal regulations concerning crypto custody that took effect in Germany on January 1, 2020, blocknox has proactively submitted an application for the necessary license to regulatory authorities. While awaiting the approval of this license, blocknox currently holds a provisional status as a regulated financial services provider, ensuring that it can continue to operate within the legal framework. This strategic approach positions blocknox as a key player in the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency custody solutions.
