    Fit for purpose

    Date: Aug 28 2024

Summary: Overall, I have little to complain about. I really enjoy the simplicity and ease of use. I won't be porting to another tool any time soon.

Positive: I think making portfolios is very time intensive and this product makes it easier. In the time I've had my portfolio up on UXfolio, I've noticed that they update it fairly regularly and the tools to set up case studies are fairly easy to use. I especially enjoy that the templates are updated frequently. I would recommend UXfolio to fellow UX designers.

Negative: I take some issue with the amount of flexibility allowed on UXfolio eg. being able to adjust the width of content in columns. Rolling out changes to the colour scheme of my portfolio has been inconsistent. There are always some spots where the background colour doesn't apply and needs to be updated manually. Allowing adjustments to a selected template should be possible but somehow is not - I can't add an image to a hero banner when the template doesn't have it. Adding background images and editing them is a bit janky, you can never be sure how it will turn out until you hit save. More UX methods could be available for case study sections. Preset tool logos could also be made available.

    User Friendliness

    Date: Aug 26 2024

Summary: Overall I am happy with my portfolio so far. I wish I could be more creative and add customer elements like lines, and images exactly where I want to put them.

Positive: I love the aesthetic and the ease of adding project elements.

Negative: What I don't like is that I can't just add elements and create my own tables for example.

    Kind of awesome resource

    Date: Aug 21 2024

Summary: I think the resource is awesome to be honest, and so on point with how annoying and time demanding it can become to design case studies for UX portfolios. Is just it need to be perfected, but for example I emailed them to fix some problems and they really answered every time, really friendly and dedicated. So yes, I like this a lot.

Positive: That you can save so much time building a UX portfolio, and that is quite great. The templates are super and the case studies are easily build.

Negative: Well some log in problems, some UI problems as well, and there should be a bit maybe more customization I think (for example for 1 portfolio template you have just 1 case study template)

    Balancing Usability and Functionality

    Edited: Jul 14 2024

Summary: UXfolio has been a positive experience with its user-friendly interface, extensive customization options, and helpful case study builder. The responsive design and seamless integrations with design tools were excellent features. However, the limited free version and the cost of premium plans were drawbacks. Overall, it’s a powerful tool for creating a professional portfolio, despite some limitations.

Positive: User-Friendly Interface: I found UXfolio’s interface intuitive and clean, making it easy for me to create and manage my portfolio without any hassle.

Customization Options: The variety of templates and customization options allowed me to tailor my portfolio to my personal brand and style.

Case Study Builder: The case study builder was a game-changer, streamlining the process of documenting my projects and highlighting key aspects of my work effectively.

Responsive Design: My portfolio looks great on all devices, which is essential for presenting my work professionally to potential clients and employers.

Integrations: The integration with tools like Figma, InVision, and Adobe XD made it super convenient to import my designs directly into my portfolio.

Feedback Tools: I appreciated the feedback tools, which helped me gather valuable input on my portfolio and refine my presentations.

SEO Optimization: The built-in SEO tools were a nice bonus, helping improve the visibility of my portfolio in search engines and attracting more viewers.

Negative: Limited Free Version: The free version’s features were quite limited, and I had to upgrade to a paid plan to unlock the full potential of the platform.

Price: The cost of the premium plans felt a bit high compared to other portfolio-building tools I’ve tried.

    Professional and Easy to Use

    Date: Jul 13 2024

Summary: I've enjoyed using UXfolio. It took away a lot of anxiety for me while building my portfolio. It looks professional and clean and I love that I had the option to use my own domain.

Positive: I like the clean design and all the different options of sections to add. It looks really professional and is easy to edit as well.

Negative: I wish there was a little more freedom on the design. For instance I want to freely control my text boxes (like on Figma) instead of being confined to certain perimeters.

    UX Designer

    Date: Jul 13 2024

Summary: Overall, UXfolio is an exceptional tool for UX/UI designers looking to create professional portfolios with ease. Its user-friendly interface, impressive design templates, and effective case study builder make it a valuable asset for showcasing design work.

Positive: The platform offers a range of beautifully designed templates that make it easy to create visually appealing portfolios without needing advanced technical skills. One of the standout features is the case study builder, which allows designers to showcase their projects in a structured and engaging manner, highlighting the design process and outcomes effectively. Additionally, the responsive design ensures that portfolios look great on all devices, from desktops to mobile phones, which is crucial for reaching a wider audience.

Negative: The templates are fantastic, but having more flexibility to tweak or start from scratch would enhance the overall user experience. According to me, UXfolio seems to be relatively unknown among designers. Increased marketing efforts could help raise awareness and attract more users.

    Not recomended

    Date: Apr 02 2024

Summary: I recommend holding off until they add more feature for customizing portfolio creation and address all their backend issues to ensure consistent website availability.

Positive: It is user friendly, but this simplicity causes quite a few limitations. It is good for beginners or if you need a portfolio asap.

    Negative: 1. Limited features.
    2. Every often there is a problem with their platform. I am actively applying for a job and I am so frustrated as my portfolio is often having issues loading the images or etc.

Product is fine but don't expect customer service. They don't answer emails

    Date: Feb 05 2023

Summary: Easy to use but they think that they are better than amazon, that their system is so amazing, no real human worker is needed.

Positive: Easy to use. If you are lazy like me and hate building your own portfolio with all the blah blah, The site lays out the blah blah.

Negative: But if your portfolio doesn't connect to your own domain or URL and you ask for help, forget it—no answer after 2 days, and frankly, I don't think they will.

It was ok until they stopped caring about customers

    Date: Apr 15 2024

Summary: I would stay away from this company until we figure out what the hell is happening there.

Positive: It was super easy to setup, with no custom options for the user to get distracted so for a long time I was recommending it to anyone needing their first portfolio.

Negative: UXfolio forgot to pay their cloud bill and every client had their portfolio offline for 3 weeks. I got upset and told them that I was going to move my portfolio somewhere else and canceled my auto-renew, they canceled my premium a month before the expiration date.

    Horrible Experience

    Date: May 05 2022

Summary: Take your money elsewhere and don't support an organization that is only good at 2 things, taking people's money, a horrible refund policy, and uses front-end developers to handle customer service.

Positive: 1. If you're a junior and don't care to have the flexibility and want your portfolio to look like everyone else, uxfolio is for you.
    2. If you are crunched with time and need to speed up and create an aesthetically boring portfolio and have a lot of help, UXfolio is for you.
    3. They are great at taking your money and having a horrible refund policy of 9 days.

    Negative: Where to start.
Customer service is horrible! UXfolio has front-end developers working as customer service?!?

They clearly don't know what they are doing by having someone who doesn't even spend time dealing with customer problems assist their customers.

The funny thing is that they provide a service for UX Designers but lacks empathy towards their customers, have a horrible refund policy, and, have minimal tutorial videos and the flexibility to customize your portfolio and case studies.

    Poor customer support

    Date: Feb 02 2022

Summary: Product is obviously taking advantage of the time and stress that comes from making a portfolio. Unlike LinkedIn who understands the ebbs and flows of job hunting , this product completely misses the mark. Ultimately ending in a pdf of all your hard work and no way to migrate your data. Forced to continue paying a $100 subscription.

    Positive: Easy to set up.
Descriptions of how to set up your portfolio.
    Good at taking your money.
    That’s it. Nothing else.

    Negative: Hard to cancel.
    No customizations.
Have to pay to remove branding.
Support was unfriendly and not helpful.
Don’t waste your money or time - make a Wordpress site.
