Torus Description

Mainstream users can easily access the decentralized ecosystem using OAuth logins from platforms like Google and Facebook. The generation of users' keys occurs through a distributed method among a network of nodes utilizing Multi-Party Computing (MPC), and these keys are only reconstructed once the user successfully authenticates on the client side. The distributed key generation framework employed by Torus operates on the Ethereum Smart Contract layer. Users can enjoy the convenience of one-click logins to decentralized applications (DApps) through services such as Google, Facebook, Reddit, Discord, and Twitch. Moreover, our public key name resolver allows tokens to be sent directly to any Google, Discord, or Reddit account, whether or not they have previously logged into Torus. In addition, users can purchase cryptocurrencies using credit cards or wire transfers through our trusted partners who offer global support at competitive rates. No need for any registrations, downloads, or installations, as our web-native wallet integrates seamlessly with your DApp, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience. This streamlined approach not only enhances accessibility but also encourages more users to engage with the blockchain environment.

    Don't use this wallet

    Date: Mar 28 2024

Summary: Previously there were staff that were helpful. I guess now profitability is not the goal. To ignore like this is completely rude & ignorant. Very poor. Very disappointing.

Positive: None if you were to make comparisons with other wallets available. This is a totally barebones wallet.

Negative: Not much to like about it as it is very limited & not that easy to understand.. Definitely do not touch this if you are a newbie. The current crop of support seem totally disinterested & if I was the employer paying then I would retire the lot. Maybe support is free. I waited for around 2.5 hours, my messages had been read & ignored. The was between 17.30 & 20.00 utc-13 March 28 2024.

    Horrible experience

    Date: Jan 06 2023

Summary: The support sucks, it probably isn't that hard if someone could just show me what to do.

Positive: First I'm not computer savvy, I bought 2 Trump cards 3 weeks ago, and my Trump cards are still in my email, simply because I don't have a clue about Torus wallet. I can view my wallet, but that's it, The help instructions is like trying to learn the Greek language. I have many times tried to find help using the torus support chat line. I always get the same guy, and all he does is send me their standard instructions, he is freaking no help at all. I need help, and still I get none. I am beside myself and don't know where to turn.

Negative: My cards are still in my email, and I'm extremely frustrated.

OpenLogin causes problems, and cryptos have to be registered manually

    Date: Dec 21 2021

Summary: Very complicated, expensive transactions and hard to use. I don't trust it at all and won't use it anymore. Unfortunately, I lost some cryptos, which I can't find anymore, and some spent some transaction fees to get cryptos back to Coinbase.

Positive: I don't like anything about Torus wallet. The supposedly comfortable OpenLogin is a disaster, as it created several accounts.

Negative: OpenLogin created several accounts and I cannot determine which one is to use. Complicated transfer via third party services. Cryptocurrencies have to be registered manually with contract addresses.

    Interesting Plug n Play Wallet

    Edited: Jan 27 2022

Positive: - Works on mobile & web
    - Social logins that are non-custodial
    - Just plugged into my dapp
    - Support was fast and done over telegram

Negative: - Documentation was a bit messy, so had to dig around a bit.
