Summary: Extremely reliable. I use it multiple times daily. Google makes more money in a SECOND than the average person in the USA makes monthly SELLING YOUR DATA!!!!!!! I stay from Google and Microsoft as much as possible.

Positive: Extremely Secure. Hosted in a country that laws don't allow the sharing of data or can face jail.It is an EXTREMELY reliable search engine that provides ACCURATE results.

Negative: Piggybacks MS Search database. But, It must be either MS or Google until they have their own data center. No other Cons.

Summary: I am very pleased with Swisscows. Overall, they are equally powerful regarding search. More important, SECURE Search is the most important reason. At this point, Swiss cows is by far the most SECURE search engine by significant margins because they are independent, operated out of a country that can't collect data or face incarceration, and the results are equal to the Big Boys.
Google has been using its MASSIVE power to try and force its goals. Arizona recently said NO to google when the demanded too much control. Swisscows has NONE of this misconduct. I have worked in data centers, am an engineer for the infrastructure of the internet and security analyst.

Positive: Provide by a Swiss company. It is Illegal to collect any data in Switzerland. Doing so, could result in Jail. Search results are excellent. They piggyback off Bing so search results are excellent. Startpage has been sold and the new owners are unknown at this point. So, security isn't guaranteed anymore. Some day when Swisscows become bigger, they may own their own data centers and be 100% independent. I have used many search engines. Google, Bing (indirectly) Startpage, Ecosia. I use predominantly Swisscows now and when security is not important or use VPN, I will use Ecosia so I can help plant trees.

Negative: The only beef I have is BING. I try and not support the BIG BOYS as they have monopolies and are causing problems. If these companies existed 100 years ago, ANTI Trust and MONOPOLY litigation would kick in to protect customers.

Summary: I still use Swisscows, but can't see which websites I've visited that I want to either revisit or avoid.

Positive: It's simple. It's private. It gives accurate results. I like knowing I'm not being tracked like with Google and Microsoft. I feel safe using this browser.

Negative: It no longer shows which websites you've already visited. It used to to the website names magenta, meaning you've visited there already. Now it doesn't. It was very useful to know this information.

Summary: Very good so far for the search engine. I'm making it my default search engine for now. The search is very good, the email good and I haven't attempted to use the VPN.

Positive: Fast. Good accurate results so far. No sleaze. No ads (although my browser does have the uBlock Origin ad-blocker installed). Nice looking, they obviously have paid a lot of attention to the rendering.

Negative: None with the search service so far.
Now, the email service is a bit bland compared to Microsoft's Outlook online email service. That said it works well and it is free with no ads (although I have uBlock Origin ad-blocker installed on my browser). I have not tried the VPN service. I would advise reading up on it before installing it as it has mixed reviews.

Summary: Very very bad now. Deleting. If it is the websites activating this horrible ad pollution I am not interested in contacting them each to stop what they might be doing. This is sad. I once liked it.

Positive: I liked it up until May 2023. It worked fine until the past month. I liked the simple use and uncluttered feel.

Negative: Since this month full screen ads appear when I am simply scrolling through a search item. Then I have to X out which only vomits another one. Then hurls another one. This is unacceptable and I will be deleting Swisscows unless you Fix it.

Summary: I am not going to use it anymore, I do not trust its objectivity. I see media controlled type of results in the search, I cannot get a fair and balanced selection of results on critical issues of the day. I will say no more.

Positive: None. I like the idea but it isn't the reality.

Negative: I believe Swisscows is a government controlled search engine based on the search results I get.
