Solid offsite storage Date: Jun 01 2023
Summary: Very pleasant and easy to setup. TrueNAS also integrates Storj storage and node very good and makes the entry easy
Positive: Decentralized storage for a quite cheap price.
Especially with smaller scopes it is possible to stay in the free tier like my TrueNAS offsite for configs and appliance backups (no user data).
Possible to rent out left over storage and earn something.Negative: You kinda have to trust the technology in terms of privacy and data assurance. But that is an issue with every cloud storage provider...

Great open source NAS Date: Jun 27 2023
Summary: I hope they keep the community in mind and that the community also helps out, while they also focus on Enterprise customers of course. If so, this will be a very good open source/commercial storage/app solution. Hybrid cloud is a bit far fetched for now, although technically maybe even possible :). Good luck.
Positive: - The zfs filesystem with a webui in front of it is the best storage solution I found. I always found it a shame that Reiserfs and btrfs developed so slowly. Zfs has all the necessary features builtin like checksumming, ssd acceleration within a pool, snapshotting.
- I particularly like the fact you can easily go back a truenas version by booting a previous zfs boot/root-snapshot. An update had an issue, so reverting to the previous truenas version, which was compatible with the rest was as easy as selecting the previous boot-version of zfs and restarting truenas.
- I also like the Kubernetes-integration, although a lot of work is still ahead to make it play nice with the complete Kubernetes ecosystem, although that's more the goal of the 3rd party repo, than Truenas itself seemingly. Anyway, it's possible.
- Setting up shares and security for backups and cloud sync is quite easy.
- All settings for TrueNAS can be exported to have a complete backup of the base system settings in case you need to restore the system.Negative: - The apps/Kubernetes setup could be improved

- Some features like the alerting with AWS SMS, email, is a bit hidden away, but once found super useful for alerts and very easy to setup. -

Reasonable online storage Date: Jun 14 2023
Summary: Impressed with the integration of my TrueNAS Storage device. As a retired IT admin turned home user.
Positive: I enjoy the accessibility and pricing for my secure off site storage. I use it to back up My TrueNAS device.
Negative: Not applicable since it is a entry level source for my backups.

Looks promising! Date: Jun 03 2023
Summary: I like the E2E of the CLI and the integration with TrueNAS. I have yet to utilize all of the features but plan to give it a go and see how it all turns out.

Extremely Promising Date: Jun 01 2023
Summary: I have been using relatively recently but so far it has exceeded my expectations. I love the emphasis on security as many platforms seem to gloss over that for convenience.
Positive: Super simple but powerful UI, decent pricing, works it TrueNAS. It was a breeze to setup which makes it a plus when I get my family to try it!
Negative: At first it looked like it was a storage repository for GitHub or something similar. The marketing was a tad confusing for me at first but that might just be me being slow.

Storj Hosting limited profitability Date: Jun 01 2023
Summary: I hosted a node for about 2 years and the software worked well. Sadly the reward for hosting comes slow and is rather small. I contributed 2Tb Storage to Storj (which for an individual is not small) and received about 80€ after conversion from those 2 years. Given the setup time, wear on the drive and price of electricity, hosting a Storj node is not profitable / worth it at the moment.
I didn't try the paid file storage DCS.Positive: The setup is rather easy. The online dashboard is easy to use and well designed. The hosting software works reliable.
Negative: The payouts for node operators (When you give your HHD-Space to Storj) were to small to make a profit, especially after conversion-fees and swaying conversion rates from crypto.
