It's not that smart as it suggests. Has annoying Dialogs withoud help links Date: Nov 22 2022
Summary: A one-time payment of 60 Dollars *would* be worth it with an annual update fee of 6 Dollars.
But certainly not 60 Dollars every year.Positive: It is great that SmartGit can be used for private use and open source projects for free.
It works very reliably.
The speed is ok.Negative: The usability is often very tedious, users who don't work with Git every day won't understand the dialog explanations.

For example, this kind of "explanation" makes it even worse and one must read it many times to understand it: "In Contrast to Fetch Only, Pull will also incorporate fetched changes."
Additionally, there is no "get help" link on those annoying dialogs. -

Great Git Client Date: Mar 09 2023
Summary: Very good. It's easy to use, and for open source development it doesn't cost anything. Even a commercial license is a very good price.
Positive: It's a very good and easy to use git client. Best of all for those working mainly on open source projects, they are generous enough to give a copy for free.
Negative: Nothing to not like. I use it for open source development, so it's free.

Positive: SmartGit provides access to all Git features, making it extremely easy to perform even the complex operations through the GUI. The application is free for Open Source projects. Side-by-side comparison. Uses system SSH client configuration.
Negative: The licensing options may not suit everyone. The free users must always have the latest product version installed.
