Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Block Volume provides customers reliable block storage that can be used with both virtual machines and bare-metal instances. Block Volumes have built-in redundancy and are persistent and reliable beyond the life span of virtual machines. They can scale up to 1PB per compute instance. To ensure high reliability, all volumes are built-in durable and run on redundant hardware. To facilitate frequent recovery points, backup block and boot volumes to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage. You can easily optimize storage size without imposing any provisioning restrictions. Block and boot volumes can be extended from 50 GB up to 32 TB online. This is done without impacting applications or workloads. To move to larger volumes, you can clone existing volumes or restore backups. You can easily clone existing blocks volumes without having to initiate the backup and restore process.
