Elements®, a 2D CAD-based software for metrology, is ideal for measuring parts that have a high feature density. It can create measurement routines from 2D CAD data with ease. It then optimizes measurement paths automatically to ensure that data is collected as quickly as possible. Elements' advantage is its ability to handle large numbers of discrete features efficiently and quickly. CAD formats that can be imported include DXF and Gerber as well as CSV locations lists. The advanced review mode allows users to inspect specific features in real-time after a run is completed. The coarse alignment feature allows for the positioning of finders in real-time to be updated for more accurate measurements. The built-in analysis tools make it easy to analyze large data trends. These tools include scatter plots and histograms for dimensional values as well as whisker plots that show deviations from nominal.
