JSCAD Description
JSCAD is an open source set of browser-based, modular, and command-line tools that allow you to create parametric 2D or 3D designs using Javascript code. It is a fast, accurate, and reproducible method to generate 3D models. This is especially useful for 3D printing applications. There are many JSCAD 'flavors' that you can choose from depending on your needs. JSCAD is a solids-modeling system. Although it is unitless in principle, JSCAD exports files so that 1 unit in JSCAD corresponds with 1 millimeter in your model. JSCAD modeling is often about building the shape you want from primitives. However, there are many options to achieve the same shape. To learn more about the capabilities of JSCAD, take a look at the examples in the info menu. Booleans are an important tool in the solid modeling toolkit. You can create many of the shapes you need on your journey by simply joining, subtracting, and intersecting simple shapes.
