    Summary: When you want to cancel you can't contact unless you WhatsApp message them and wait 14 working days for them to get back to you which they won't as I've been waiting 15 working days now. I still haven't received a refund of my unused lessons. Customer support is rude and will cut you off.
    DO NOT SIGN UP!!!

    Positive: One tutor was good and his work content was good and he was a nice, friendly man. He was the only positive thing about this company.

    Negative: We only joined for 1 month and tutors didn't turn up, moved lessons around without notifying me. The work content was a joke I could have done a better job!

    Avoid at all costs

    Summary: This company has no underlying support model in place and very little interest in building up a positive relationship with their customer base.
    They are anonymous when it comes to addressing issues, and in the event of an early termination of a contract, almost impossible to get refunds.
    They do not operate off U.K. legislation.
    They rely upon a very poorly developed AI driven chat BOT, and direct contact (telephone) is impossible.
    Based on our experience, the management and control over their tutors is very poor.
    I am in the process of taking legal action against this company.
    Requirement was a maths Tutor for my daughter (year 8)

    1) had a complimentary session with 1st tutor which was positive.
    2) At the end of the 2nd lesson, the Tutor advised my daughter that she was going away with her boyfriend for a 6 week holiday, but her sister could take over the sessions while she was away. Her sister was Not registered with Go Student, so we requested that she find a replacement- something she couldn’t do as she was going away the next morning!
    2) After a number of left telephone messages and conversations on WhatsApp a second tutor was assigned, and they eventually agreed not to charge for the trial session.
    3) This Tutor lasted 2 sessions.
    And cancelled lesson number 2 the day before, and lesson number 3 15 minutes before the start.
    4) When messaging with her, she told me that the company allowed them to cancel sessions with just 15 minutes notice, and thought that I was being unreasonable, expecting a longer notice period “ we tutors have a life too”.
    And then told me that she was not interested in carrying on tutoring my daughter.
    5) It took countless WhatsApp chats, emails and unreturned voice messages before I actually spoke to a representative from the company- the one and only occasion. It was agreed that the experience with the tutors was not acceptable and that my account would be closed and unused lessons credited.
    This happened over a period of a few days.
    6) in January I noticed that GoStudeng had taken another payment from my credit card for another 4 lessons.
    Contacting them this time was a complete joke as their AI BOT didn’t recognise me as an active customer.
    I have received email replies from their support team say that they will repay the unauthorised payment taken from my card but this had not happened.
    I have also requested confirmation that they have closed out the repeat card transaction- again no response.
    I have now passed the matter over to my bank/card provider.

    Positive: Web site.
    Clever business model.
    Good Marketing message.
    V quick response to inquiry.
    Initial contact from a sales perspective was promising.

    Negative: Poor quality of Tutors.
    Lack of communication.
    Useless AI BOT.
    Questionable integrity.
    Non existent customer support model.
    All about getting the money in.

    Avoid

    Summary: See the cons. I'd avoid this company and would not recommend to anyone. You've been warned.

    Positive: The tutor was great. English for a 9 years old. Online worked OK buy couldn't work on handwriting very easily.

    Negative: First off, my wife was pressure sold into signing up for 6 lessons a month, when we only needed 3. The guy on the phone told her 6 was the minimum they sold. When we phoned back to cancel our membership, they magically reduced it to 4.

    The platform has technical issues. I have no issues with Teams and Zoom chats for work, but GoStudent must not compress the video files as efficiently or something. Lessons were very continually interrupted and cut off.

    On trying to cancel our membership, I couldn't find a phone number on the website. There is a number you can WhatsApp. The guy I messaged there did his best, but could only tell me to fill out a form and someone will phone me back in up to 14 working days. Absolutely ridiculous.

    BEWARE: HARD TO CANCEL GO STUDENT

    Summary: They set you up with a mandatory payment plan for your "purchased block of sessions", but then call it a membership so they can keep charging you afterward. Try finding their "cancellation form" on their site... impossible. You'd think an email would do it.... nope. "Can't find my account but can keep charging my credit card". I'm only leaving a bad review because of the terrible run around I got.

    Positive: Easy to set up. HARD TO CANCEL. $$$. I would say there is no pro to using this company. There are lots of others you can use. Stay a way from this one. I don't know if they are scammers or just super unorganized.

    Negative: BEWARE: HARD TO CANCEL! Go Student kept charging me cost me an extra $1000!!! Go Student may have helped my daughter in tutoring, but gives me the runaround in canceling my "so-called membership" after I paid the mandatory payments for the "package" I purchased. Couldn't find the "cancellation form" on their site anywhere. Emailed the support email multiple times over 10 month span and received a different person every time saying they couldn't find my file...but they have no problem charging my credit card every month!!! One support worker FINALLY said she found my file and was going to expedite my cancellation, only to charge my credit card for another 3 months!! Every email to them after "finding" my account, was a support worker saying they couldn't find my account. I finally had to get the credit card company involved to stop payment and block them. Then today, three months later out of the blue, they sent me another email saying... sorry we can't find your file. What the heck! Just don’t use them, not worth the pain and $!!!

    Nightmare

    Summary: Terrible. Absolute waste of money and time. A headache. A night mare. Frustrating and annoying. Wished I had never bothered. I could have used the money on another company and my daughters maths could have improved. Instead we are a few hundred quid down and at exactly the same level as maths as we were before I even discovered this company.

    Positive: One of the tutors was lovely and I don’t blame her for quitting. That’s it and I have to use 100 characters but I have nothing more positive to say.

    Negative: Really helpful and eager to sign you up. Once you pay that’s it. No more friendly advisors. Teachers don’t turn up. They still charge you. You will have zero lessons and you can’t get a hold of someone but you can guarantee they’ll still take your money.

    Stay away from this FRAUDULENT company!!

    Summary: Stay away!!! Do not let them to steal you hard working money! I saw other bad reviews before we got into this "scam" but my wife insisted to go for it. I said no at that time but she just insisted for the good of our kid... and now look at me? Fighting to get my money back!

    Positive: My son was okay to try but he said that is not too much that they can offer. I trust him as he is one of the top students in his school.

    Negative: My son stop accessing they services this year 2022 in, but this scam company continued to charge my credit card for March, April, May and now in June again. In May I contact them and asked for a two month refund. We agreed to refund just one month. Now. looking into my credit card statement I found out that these scammers charge me again. We exchange a lot of emails and after that they continued to illegally charge my credit card. My next move would be to file a fraud claim with my financial institution and also with the police for credit card fraud. These guys are totally scammers. If you want to go through what I am going with them in the last 3 month then go for it.

    TERIIBLE SERVICE

    Summary: TERRIBLE! Never experienced such frustrating service!

    Positive: One out of my 2 tutors are good - thats it. Nothing more to say about this company that's good.
    The rest is all bad.

    Negative: The admin is absolutely SHOCKING. I had 1 tutor who was rude to my son & its taken over 5 months and no replacement. You cant get hold of anyone - EVER. They take your money and thats it. The website is crap. There's no contact details. No one responds on the WhatsApp group.

    Unprofessional, just there for the money

    Summary: I live in the UK and will relocate to Italy with my 10 year old son who has special needs. I asked GoStudent if they were able to cater for him, especially provide a friendlier more relaxed approach. We had two initial tutors that were very structured and grammar based. So basically he took nothing from the first couple of months, although of course I was paying upfront. He then had a third tutor with which he started off well, but suddenly introduced grammar based lessons, and at his lack of reaction she became frustrated with him. She commented repeatedly to him how he would not be able to fit in an Italian school and how he would struggle. This has had a very negative impact on my son.
    The tutor in question also carried out lessons with her baby beside her, which meant it was a constant distraction, as she had to sometimes turn off the camera to tend to her child.
    GoStudent are refusing to look at any other solution other than "we'll find someone else", with my son now being completely shut down to the idea of online tutoring.
    Awful, unprofessional service. Just there for the money.

    Positive: Home-based lessons, easy access to platform, there are no other pros to mention.

    Negative: Unprofessional tutors, they don't take into consideration the child's needs, little progress made, just there for the money.
