Gimkit Description

Introducing Gimkit, the interactive learning game show that your students will eagerly anticipate participating in. With frequent updates and a variety of new modes and power-ups, the experience your students enjoy today may evolve into something entirely different tomorrow. Each student engages with questions on their individual devices at their own pace, ensuring that they have multiple opportunities to encounter the material throughout a Kit to achieve mastery. Moreover, students can reinvest their earnings by acquiring upgrades and power-ups tailored to their unique strengths, leading to millions of possible combinations for customization. Most of the work students complete is only visible to one other individual, yet Ink empowers them to generate significant projects and share their creations with their peers. Within Ink, students create posts that are not only accessible to you but also to each other, fostering a collaborative environment where they can learn from one another. This dynamic approach encourages a sense of community and continuous improvement among the learners.

Summary: Superb! My students love Gimkit!! I use about five different options for gaming in the classroom, and students always ask me for and want to go back to Gimkit. I think the screen looks friendly and more professional too. One of the companies I used this year covers the entire screen for some of the games, and this many times annoys students because they cannot see the question, or the answers to play their game.
I also want to share that the first year I used Gimkit (2018-2019 school year), I was so impressed with the different games and their impact on the learning of my students, that I included it for my national certification video, commenting on how the children had advanced in my classroom because of their interactions playing the games, Gimkit's positive effect on our learning environment, and so on. I earned my national certification in 2019! I don't know Josh but, as a teacher, I feel so happy for his success! I feel as if we are all part of the Gimkit family!

Positive: I love that Gimkit offers a wide variety of team and individual games that help students learn while having fun. I also like that I can stop the game at any point, even if I had a specific time. We use Gimkit daily; for instance, to introduce new vocabulary, as homework, as a quiz grade, as a review before a physical test, as a reward, and for substitute days, among other uses. If we just have some minutes available at the end of a class, I challenge the students to survive those minutes playing The Floor is Lava. Also, it is very easy to create new Gimkit sets and to incorporate Gimkit into Google Classroom assignments.

Negative: For my Spanish class, I wish there was an option to turn all directions and comments to Spanish. (I can help you with this, Josh.)
