Great cloud service Date: Apr 17 2025
Summary: Files.fm is a solid platform for quick, flexible file sharing — especially for users in Europe or those who need public file publishing and monetization tools. While it may not offer the sleekest UI or the most robust features in the free tier, it delivers well on its core promise: simple, fast, privacy-conscious file sharing.
Best for freelancers, small businesses, content creators, or anyone who occasionally needs to upload, share, or sell files online.Positive: No Registration Required (for basic use): You can upload and share files quickly without creating an account — super convenient for fast sharing.
Supports Public and Private Sharing: You can easily choose who can access your files. Great for both public distribution and secure storage.
Monetization Options: Creators can sell their files (e.g., photos, music, documents) directly from the platform.
Multiple Upload Methods: Supports drag-and-drop, folder uploads, and even torrents in some cases.
European-Based (GDPR compliant): Ideal for users who prioritize data privacy within the EU.
Multilingual Support: Available in multiple languages, including English, Latvian, and more.
Preview Features: Images, videos, and documents can be previewed directly in the browser.Negative: Basic Free Plan Limits: Free users may experience limited storage, bandwidth, or file retention time.

Interface Could Be More Polished: The design and navigation can feel a bit outdated or clunky, especially compared to services like Google Drive or Dropbox.
Not as Mainstream: Fewer integrations and automations compared to bigger players like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive. -

Deeply Disappointed with Files.fm’s Service and Support Edited: Apr 16 2025
Summary: In conclusion, my experience with Files.fm has been deeply disappointing. I urge potential users to consider alternative services that prioritize customer support and reliability.
Positive: N/A.
Negative: After six years as a loyal PRO subscriber to Files.fm, paying €10 monthly for 2TB of storage and promised high-speed access, I find myself compelled to express my profound dissatisfaction with their recent service.

This month, my download speed inexplicably plummeted to a mere 1Mb/sec. I promptly reached out to customer support, anticipating a swift resolution. Instead, over two weeks, I received only generic troubleshooting steps—clearing cache, switching Wi-Fi networks, and checking VPN settings (which I don’t use). These suggestions failed to address the core issue, leaving me without access to essential files and halting my work projects.
Repeated inquiries about the root cause went unanswered. The lack of transparency and effective support is unacceptable. Notably, colleagues in Latvia reported no such issues, suggesting a possible neglect of international users like myself in Spain.
To verify the problem wasn’t on my end, I tested other file-sharing services, including WeTransfer, which functioned flawlessly. This points to a specific issue with Files.fm.
Upon requesting a refund for this month’s subscription, I received it. However, I was informed that all my files would be deleted within a month, effectively terminating my account without further discussion. This abrupt action, after years of patronage, is both shocking and disheartening. -
