Overpriced, misleading, and frustrating to use Date: Sep 09 2025
Summary: My experience with Character Creator 5 has been extremely disappointing. I paid for the base software and several plugins, but the features simply don’t show up. The content downloader is nearly impossible to locate, and there is no transparency in how the software works. Instead of being creative, I wasted hours troubleshooting. This feels like a trap for customers rather than a professional tool. I am now in the process of requesting a refund and cannot recommend it to anyone.
Positive: The software looks powerful on the surface and can create realistic characters if you buy all the extra packs. Integration with Unreal/Unity is a good idea in theory.
Negative: Purchased plugins don’t appear in the program. Installation is hidden and non-transparent. Tutorials are misleading because they don’t mention the required paid add-ons. Support is slow and unhelpful. Pricing is fragmented and much higher than expected.
