Summary: There is no other product that has the same features for screen casting as Camtasia. With that being said it does need to be finessed for UX - I would like to see a better looking and more intuitive list on the right side of window such as "Transitions" "Annotations" "Gesture Effects"

The captioning is quite manually and does need to be modernized. I have to take video and take to another software. I would love to see some improvements to reduce one software instance,

Positive: There is no other similar product that can do the same things Camtasia completes. The background remover is such a handy feature that I cannot utilize in other video software: a much welcomed feature.

Negative: Captioning is needed in video today - Camtasia doesn't have auto-captioning - it is a manual process. I would like a time saving.

Summary: I really like this software! I use it every day for my YouTube channel, Doom Maestro; it is amazing! I highly recommend it. It has become so normal to use in my every other-day life, as my YouTube upload schedule is every other day or every three days. Most of my problems are the lack of audio options/settings and sometimes I do even have to use other software to make it easier. To be fair, I have spent time figuring out alternative ways of using Camtasia to do what I want to do, for example, read the cons section, but it would take less time editing and make the experience all the better to have those options available in software. I do not recall all the issues I have had since I used it so much. Everything is natural now when I use it and it is harder to notice the problems as I have found my normal "grove" with the software, which I really do enjoy. Otherwise, most things work very well, and transitions are easy and look good in the final product. and they even have customization options for some of them, and you can play them in reverse in your video if you prefer the transition reversed for your video.

Positive: Timeline editing is very easy. The options for transitions are great and the software as a whole is one that I do use and will continue to use. The audio and video options are good like transition but are limited but not enough that I would ding that for this software. Annotations work very well, and exporting videos work like a charm with little issue over my entire time working with this software.

Negative: It takes some time to get used to how things work, and sometimes you have to take the long route when editing due to a certain lack of features. There is no feature for having two clips of cross-fade audio to make transitions better. I have a method that works; it just takes a bit more editing to get there. I have more things that I have problems with like this, but I cannot remember them at the moment.

Summary: It's a good product that has evolved over time. The ease with which you can produce quality videos very fast clinches it

Positive: - Easy to get up the learning curve and produce quality output
- Intuitive
- Good supporting video tutorials

Negative: - Pricey
- User interface often changes between versions requiring re-learning
- There's a bug in their maintenance program in that if you take out maintenance but don't select autorenew the system tells you you don't have maintenance when in fact you do!

Summary: Its a great tool that reduces my design time and allows me to quickly produce video content at an affordable cost point. Many years ago I may have known someone who had a bootleg copy of the program. As a registered user, I find the support and benefits worth being a legitimate customer.

Positive: I do not have to use Adobe After Effects and Premiere to create complex video elements for my projects.

The ability to create courses that report completions without having to transfer them to an instructional design tool.

Negative: The caption editing tool is not easy to use when trying to cut transcript sections. I find myself having to type more of the text than using the feature.

Summary: My experience using this software has been very positive, and it is definitely my go-to for video creation and edit. I use Camtasia on a PC with a large monitor. I have also used the integrated app to capture media via mobile.

Positive: I have been using Camtasia to create and edit video for adult education items, and I've found the software easy to use. The tutorials are helpful, but it's also quite easy to do go about it through trial-and-error. I particularly like the ease of inserting media and adjusting placement. You can edit at the frame level to get the timing perfect.

Negative: One thing I've noticed is that the software lacks some of the "trendy" effects that are popular in other editing platforms, such as sparkles, glow-up, and shimmer. I also would like greater options for captioning.

Summary: Camtasia has made it possible for me to have extensive video editing and screen recording in a very precise way within my computer, I am very proud to be using this platform, since it has made it possible for me to have a very professional recording, with a quality far superior to any other platform and it also allows me to have customization of the recordings, it allows me to record specific things located on my computer, it allows me to modify the recording scale, modify the audio of each recording and much more. Camtasia is quite a professional screen recorder and I recommend it without a doubt, mainly because it has provided a significantly good experience for my company, it has made it possible for us to create really professional Videos from our computer in very few steps.

Positive: The things I liked about Camtasia were:

1- Camtasia uses a fairly good video quality for each of the recordings that are made, the video quality of each recording is fully modifiable, the user can immediately modify the quality that he wants for each of the recordings that he makes within from your computer, it is also important to note that despite the fact that this platform records in a very good quality within the computer, its consumption in the background is not so high, the recording of any type of application that you are using.

2- Another thing that I liked about this platform is that it allows you to modify which application you want to record within the computer, this is very important since other platforms only allow full screen recording and not specific applications, this recording of specific applications it is very beneficial, you can use one and only record a part of that browser, or you can use a folder and modify the recording scale.

3- Annotations are very important within this platform, this function allows you to make annotations within the screen you are using, you can write any type of thing or do various forms within the monitor using this function, you can make unlimited notes during each recording.

4- Another thing that I liked is that this platform allows you to share each recording with various cloud storage systems as well as on social networks. It is important to note that this sharing of recordings is done in the original quality of the video, it maintains the quality, does not diminish it.

Negative: The things I didn't like about this platform were:

1- Using the platform is relatively complex, in general the platform is very difficult to use, since you have to correctly configure the recordings so that they run correctly, in addition, configure the video quality, the audio transmission, the device you will use to record the audio and much more, these configurations are quite complex, which means that not every user can use the platform correctly without having previous experience in video management.

2- It is not available for iOS devices, this application is only available for computers and Android devices, it is quite not available for my iPhone device, as this would help me to make much more professional recordings from my mobile phone.

Summary: It allows me to professionally prepare a lot of computer content that is very necessary when I am with meetings within my company or with clients. This software has given me the possibility of taking screenshots of everything I want and in different ways, either by window, screen or some section that I have marked in order to be able to easily use two screens in the one I am explaining and recording what I am being without compromising anything and on another screen simply performing private functions that I do not want to appear in the video.

I do not recommend Camtasia for very old computers as it has very high requirements, so if you plan to use this software to record screens on computers that do not meet the requirements published on their website, be sure that you will have to record in very high quality. low and the writing PC will be affected in terms of performance, so you have to make sure that the PC meets the requirements.

With this software, it has given me the facility to record short videos to be able to use them in my work environment when I want to explain things and share them with the interested parties, so I streamline the work process by having a tool that has established parameters that help to record videos according to user needs. Also being able to share videos with others has been the easiest, it also allows me to save videos in the cloud by synchronizing my Google Drive or Dropbox account.

Positive: * It has several templates of the different formats that exist in today's social networks. I found this very effective as it not only allows you to set the dimensions of a video, but also has the default direction of where the video will go, making this much easier both in video editing and at the time of recording so that the screen capture process becomes more convenient and automated. You can also share the screenshots taken directly on various social networks, such as YouTube or make a post directly on Facebook, this has allowed me to facilitate the uploading of all the screenshots in order to share them more easily with work colleagues or clients.

* I found it very useful on several occasions the way in which you can manipulate the text within a screenshot without having to make manual edits in order to replace or copy a text. This tool is wonderful, it seems like magic every time I use this tool to extract information from a screenshot, it not only works for the screenshots that I have taken but also for practically any video that may have legible text, that worked for me very useful for not having to transcribe the text manually but simply copied it and that's it, it is also practical to be able to make changes to the text of the videos without having to create a text box to change information but simply select it as any text and there their respective settings, all this from a screenshot.

* The Magic Wand allowed me to more easily remove unnecessary backgrounds and replace them with other images for much more convenient edits to footage. This was very practical for me since it works as if it were a Photoshop tool, so I don't worry when a recording has something that I don't want to appear in the video since with a simple click I can delete things inside the video and replace them with other items very easily.

* Being able to create gifs with the screenshots is great, it's easy to show examples in less than 20 seconds and in turn automatically convert these videos into gifts to make it easier to share something necessary but not too big and not necessary either use background audios so with this tool it has made it easy for me to create gifs very easily.

Negative: * It consumes a lot of resources when taking a screenshot, so you have to have a previous configuration to see if the performance of capturing the screen and using it on a computer without the system crashing or slowing down. So, I would recommend not using the recommendations of the default settings, but playing a little more with the video quality both in resolution and also how many FPS the final video will go once it is recorded, with that you avoid editing problems and you can also adjust the video quality without losing performance on your computer.

* Video editing is not as intuitive as it seems, you have to be fiddling with the tool to know what they do since its interface is not very visually pleasing and it seems that it was a professional video editor, causing me to switch to an editor simpler video template that loops through the wrong parts of a video and added few elements within my final video. I know that to record it is a walk, but to be able to edit an already recorded video there are few functions that are easy to handle, such as the time bar where various audio, text or video tracks can be adjusted, the preview and the section of files or elements, the rest is a bit complicated to use.

* I have another problem with the video editor and that is that it doesn't accept all types of video formats, this was a bit annoying at first before I didn't have a direct solution from Camtasia when adding video in certain formats, so I almost missed it. I gave up until several YouTube videos showed me that I had to install QuickTime to fix that codec problem. However, I never had a direct solution through Camtasia, I just had to resort to third-party software so that it could recognize all video formats without any problem.

Summary: Camtasia is a great business tool for the regular business user to support limited use cases for presentations, educational or instructional videos, as well as how-to's. Cost effective and easy to use. Continues to evolve, though slowly.

Negative: -only for simple use cases, no upgrade to complex video scenarios

It allows everything to do while creating, posting or editing a video. Animations and effects are awesome. Instantly access to favorites. Free trial version is available.

Positive: Camtasia is all in one software from video editing to screen recording. It helps in creating Demos, tutorials, meetings recording, videos training and more. No video editing skill is needed, easy to learn. Just add few effects in the video and its ready to post. Allows instantly video uploading to YouTube. Easily customisable templates. Drag and drop editor helps in editing, trimming, adding and removing videos or audios. Perfect software for both beginners and professional.

Negative: Little pricy, else everything is perfect. Free trial is available. No cons.

Summary: I've used this software while I was doing an internship. I've edited various video lectures for a university using this tool. It's a simple but somewhat costly tool.

Positive: A beginner can learn to use this software quickly.
Simple and easy to use tools.
It gives options to record our screen as well as to edit the recorded video.

Negative: It's not free software, we need to buy it at some price.
