Campaign Refinery = Super Flexible & Robust

    Date: Nov 29 2021

Summary: Overall I believe Campaign Refinery to be a great "find" for experienced email marketers that are looking for better deliverability & some pretty cool features that most other big name services don't have.

Positive: I was looking for an email platform that has some cutting edge features that most common email platforms / auto-responders don't have, and that's how I found Campaign Refinery. This tool has super flexible automations + has gamification tied into their service to enhance email deliverability. Additionally they also have auto list cleaning which helps keep your list, domain sending name, and email reputation healthy. It's a pretty top-notch service for the price & their custom service is on par as well.

Negative: The UI isn't as "pretty" as other big name services, and it takes a little time to get used to how everything works... but other than that, it's pretty sound. If you're a newbie, you don't need a service like this, as I believe it's meant for users with email experience.

    New favorite ESP.

    Date: Nov 15 2021

Summary: Working with Travis is nothing short of a pleasure. He is very responsive and is happy to teach/walk through any part of his platform with you until you have a full understanding of how it works and how to get the most out of it. I personally recommend all of my marketer friends to implement campaign refinery in their digital marketing programs.

Positive: Functionality, reporting, intuitive UI, amazing deliverability, and seemingly weekly new features are added. The rewards automation is incredible for keeping your users engaged. Easiest and most reliable dedicated IP experience I've had so far. It just makes money...

Negative: No shared IP pools and CPM's are a little higher than I'd like.

Unshakable Quality ~ Unbeatable Customer Service : Campaign Refinery

    Edited: Nov 14 2021

Summary: I am a client first marketer.
    Service, integrity, honesty, and discipline.
With nearly 4 decades of international marketing chops, behind me.

So, it's great to work with someone who has a passion for putting the client first and wanting to see them succeed.

In this fast paced world -
A service minded approach, is refreshingly valuable.

Positive: You might think reading this isn't worth your while…
I'm a lead gen marketing nut.
If my memory serves me well...
Roughly 2 1/2 years ago, maybe a little more.
I was introduced to a SaaS product from Travis Ketchum,
    Campaign Refinery, (CR) for short.

I love Travis' smart email marketing approach and lead gen...
Sometime before CR, I knew Travis, having purchased another product from him, Contest Domination, it's brilliant.
Campaign Refinery's development model is equally brilliant.

I'd been bouncing around for years, from email provider to email provider. CC, SG, MC, ... AC was my one hope... but it came up short for me also...
I never gave INFSF a serious wink...
    Maybe I am to particular...

All of these email providers and their products didn't seem revolutionary, cutting edge as suggested.

They all touted lot's of so called bells and whistles...
always with a catch... always with the same drab, gray flat paint, wall approach.

Everyone, "except one, CR", decided to charge off the size of our lists.
It seems like the quality of their product and service ...
is consistently over-shadowed by the "List size is KING" model.

They could do things differently but they don't.
Why because the bigger the list the more money they make.

Dead emails, toxic emails, fake emails, wasteful padding...
You name it they it's there... bulking up our list size . . .
They never hit the inbox and we don't know why.

I listened to Travis discuss the differences of Campaign Refinery. Automated listing cleaning (list hygiene), better email in boxing, etc.
I saw something new and exciting in this approach...

The size of my list... no longer matters ...
    In boxing concerns gone.

If I run a great promotion.
Get lots of optins, my investment, doesn't skyrocket through the roof... Even it hits 60 thousand. goes beyond 100 thousand . . .
Prospects, or clients on my list is not what I pay for, period.

    Imagine that will you.
My package investment is solely based emails sent.
Not the size of my list.
    That's novel, refreshing.

    My take on Campaign Refinery.
From years of experience with Travis' two products...

    Three things stand out.
    1. Quality Products,
    2. Impeccable Customer Service.
    3. Each of my support emails get answered.
    In a timely manner.

    All this time.
Not one support email, has failed to fully addressed.

    P.S.
    Here's something for you---
It an unexpected bonus for me.

    Late last October 2021.
I was struggling getting a campaign flow sorted out...
I reached out via email support.

Travis suggested we hope on a video call.
We scheduled a time and off we went...

    And got it sorted out...
I was a bit embarrassed, the fix was really simple...

    But there you are...
With great support, I managed, to quickly and easily,
    get the problem sorted out.

Negative: Perhaps, it's because I'm not as smart as I should be...
And some technical things, not all, but some, take me for a loop.

Not the fault of Campaign Refinery's design UX or UI, it is elegant, effective, and well thought out.

With the array of built in tagging possibilities.
My problem is with getting my tags, sequenced and sorted, as efficiently as I feel I should.

Best Email Delivery, Great Features & Even Better Price

    Date: Nov 13 2021

Summary: Overall, this is a great email platform. It has everything I need to get the highest ROI from my email campaign. Which is all about inboxing and other advanced features.

Positive: Campaign Refinery is super solid. It has great email deliverability. Unlike many email platforms I've tried.

And it has some killer features I hadn't seen anywhere else, like their evergreen flash sale.

Also, super nice that you can clean your email list inside of the app. They are really focused on email list hygiene and deliverability.

Negative: None I can think of. It is solid. Especially at the price point. Normally to get these types of features and performance you'd have to pay 5 figures to Maropost. CR is much less.

    Campaign Refinery review

    Date: May 21 2024

Summary: We have been kicked out of using the service out of the blue 2 days after making the next months payment and the company refused to pay us back.

Now we switched to ActiveCampaign and our open rates are 2x times as high without much effort.

And the main premise of Campaign Refinery is high deliverability and open rates, 1 Big lie.

Positive: Absolutely no pros, all a big lie only thing is maybe cleaning your list but you can also do that with every other software.

    Negative: -Stole our money
    -Deliverability is trash
    -No responsibility

    Campaign Refinery Company Response
    Date: May 21 2024
This customer violated our Acceptable Use Policy over a sustained period of time, and after the abuse reached high enough levels to trigger a deep audit by our deliverability and compliance team, they were removed from the platform. This policy is both publicly available from multiple locations and importantly, no account can sign-up without agreeing to the policy. Here's our Acceptable Use Policy for reference: https://docs.campaignrefinery.com/article/81-acceptable-use-policy Our support team tried to ease the transition by still generating an export of the users data so they could rapidly choose another platform with more relaxed deliverability standards. Given the sending behavior we recorded however, it seems unreasonable to think any temporary jump in performance by piggybacking an existing platforms reputation would be sustainable longterm. The average customer who comes to us is able to 2x their open and click rate vs their previous platform, and we frequently beat Active Campaign by 4-5x the results.

    No customer service

    Date: Oct 17 2020

Summary: Negative experience only. Tried to contact repeatedly by e-mail and phone with no response. Monthly charges continue.

Positive: Opened a trial account and did not use it beyond that. Followed the cancellation policy of the trial, which was ignored by the company.

Negative: No response to phone or e-mail. Impossible to cancel accounts following their own policies after trial. Billing just continues.

Really sorry to hear you had this negative experience. I wish I knew what account this was so I could take a look where things went wrong, as any cancellation request is absolutely honored in a prompt fashion. We've added a very easy self-service cancellation option as well so any account that wants out can do so with full autonomy.
