Summary: This was my third call to A2 Hosting support (both sales and tech, first as a prospective customer and then as a new customer). Each call was answered by an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful representative each rep (David in sales and Chidube and Ken in tech) took great care to listen, anticipate my needs, and assist me with the fundamental insights and direction I need at this early stage using their solutions. What a great team, and what a great user experience. With all other things being more or less equal among whatever product and service providers I'm considering, the quality of and access to support is what seals the deal for me.
Positive: 1. Excellent support.
2. Very fair and competitive pricing.
3. So far, so good; I believe that A2's solutions will be a perfect fit for my goals/ambitions.Negative: Not applicable during this initial stage; everything is going well thus far. Summary: Overall the price to value is very good, newer hardware available such as nvme storage and unlimited at that!
Positive: Very fast response and helpful so far with initial migration that I depended on jetpack for but turns out jetpack is pretty useless for everything I've paid for - they keep upselling you and require a full year payment which, I know, is a bad sign but being the same company as Wordpress I tried it. I won't renew it lol.
Negative: None yet but I am just migrating and so far so good.

Before renewal, I upgraded. They would not renew from the date of expiry of earlier product but cancelled and refunded for the remainder of its term. And then one of their team sent a second bill when the earlier term ended. It was quickly cancelled after some worried moments -

Summary: Happy with service over the years and have since changed all my sites over to A2. Support is always tricky with any hosting company but they have always resolved any issues effectively.
Positive: Changed my main website to A2 some years ago after a couple of bad experiences with other hosting and domain companies.
Negative: Support could be frustrating initially, feeling I was being left to deal with the issue but I think that's the nature of support. We got there in the end.

Summary: A2 Hosting is a complete scam. Stay away from them. Firstly, they are expensive and don't give anything like free domain and unlimited subdomains which others like Hostinger does. I took A2 Hosting's hosting package in November 2023 on a Black Friday sale but still got an expensive deal. I hosted my sites on their maximum limit of three subdomains. In August end 2024, I emailed them saying I wouldn't be renewing their hosting in November 2024 and deleted my credit card details from their site. Within 24 hours I got a bunch of emails saying my account had been terminated for violation of some TOS. Apparently, 9 months after I hosted my websites, they found evidence of phishing just after I had emailed them saying I won't be renewing in November. So as revenge they did not allow me to use their hosting services for the next three months although I had paid for 12 months. They are plain cheats and scammers. I regret using their services and plan on reporting them to regulatory and enforcement authorities.
Positive: Zero, there are no pros with them. They claim to give you great offers but give nothing, no free domain, no unlimited subdomains and charge 2x when you renew
Negative: Expensive as hell, no features and Cheaters and scammers will take your money

We sincerely apologize for the serious issues with our website, iaesprime dot com. The website is hosted by A2 Hosting, but the vendor is unwilling to cooperate. We are still unable to access the service. Due to the problem, A2 hosting does not provide any information or explanations. We contacted them several times, but A2 Hosting did not respond positively, despite the fact that they had not yet taken any action. A2 Hosting provides very poor service.
A2 Hosting always updates us on open tickets, but we do not have access to the server. A2 Hosting lied by not opening a ticket to resolve the issue.
We are currently working to create our journal "Computer Science and Information Technologies, ISSN 2722-323X, e-ISSN 2722-3221" from scratch at the new domain.

Unannounced complete lock-down remote of MySQL connections. SUPPORT TICKET now required to white-list ONE IP address. Wildcarding disabled. NO WARNING Date: Apr 15 2024
Summary: Likely the company got bought out unannounced and they are cost cutting on their way to be another bargain basement garbage host. That, or they got "hacked" and are currently over-reacting to their poor infosec. Either way, I am taking my business elsewhere, as I am no longer receiving what I paid for.
Positive: Their pricing is decent. Their support used to be decent, and even offered phone support. It isn't anymore though.
Negative: It is NOT OKAY for a company to unilaterally make changes to how hosting operates, neuter tools admins had before (leaving them there, but non-functional) and requiring a SUPPORT TICKET for what should be a basic cpanel change. Especially when I spent an HOUR trying to get your garbage "support" to pick up the phone on the day I found out about this unannounced change. I am sure you got "hacked" & I am sure it was because a customer had their server open to remote connections. Ultimately that is the customer's call to make. The better response to this would have been to test for brute-forcing on the MySQL port, and to firewall repeated failed attempts to log in -- which is what most hosts do. Ham-fistedly shutting down all remote connections, breaking the ability to wildcard, and removing functional control of my connections in cpanel, then expecting me to make a SUPPORT REQUEST every time an IP addresses changes is a clown show put on by amateurs. Your competitors aren't doing this. I'm leaving

Summary: Can't wait to dump them. They are like a festering boil on the sole of your foot that you feel every single day. I sincerely regret going for the 4 year cheap price to trust my business to this circus.
Positive: It's cheap. That's all. It uses cPanel so they can't screw that up. If you are travelling, say in a hotel room and you lose your Wi-Fi signal, your support chat disconnects. Horrible.
Negative: 1 star is too many. For the last 6 interactions with A2 support (they average 1 per month) I needed to interact (not just open a ticket) with them 5 times on average to get the problem resolved. The last 2 interactions were necessary because of the migration A2 did and I had no opportunity to prevent. Unbelievable incompetence.
