Description
StoryBirdie transforms a screenplay into an organized shot list and storyboard, allowing directors to plan their coverage in mere minutes instead of spending an entire afternoon on it. By uploading a script in formats like Fountain, PDF, or DOCX, StoryBirdie identifies issues related to continuity, logic, and formatting, linking them back to the specific sections that caused the problems. It then deconstructs the script into individual shots, with each row corresponding to a beat and detailing aspects such as shot size, angle, camera movement, blocking, actions, as well as the characters and props depicted in the frame. Each row is connected to its corresponding lines of script, enabling easy identification of any affected shots during rewrites. The storyboard frames are generated from this shot list while ensuring character consistency, adherence to the 180-degree rule, and proper blocking throughout the sequence. Users have the flexibility to refine their work by merging shots, splitting beats, reordering elements, or regenerating specific frames based on simple notes. Additionally, the shot list can be exported in formats like XLSX, CSV, or Markdown, while the storyboards can be printed as PDFs or formatted for use with platforms such as Veo, Sora, Runway, and Kling. The service starts with a complimentary allowance of 20 credits and offers a pricing structure based on the selected plan rather than on a per-user basis, making it accessible to a broader range of filmmakers.
Description
Storyboarder was created because the tool we envisioned simply did not exist in the market. Every day, we strive to enhance its capabilities. We are thrilled to offer it as a free and open-source solution, inviting users to contribute their own improvements. Just as animation has integrated storyboarding and pitches into its narrative development process, we believe this can be applied effectively in other storytelling mediums as well. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are eager to hear your thoughts on how we can elevate Storyboarder to new heights. The tool offers a variety of options: use a light pencil for sketching, a hard pencil for precise lines, a pen for most drawing tasks, a brush for shading, a note pen for annotations, and an eraser for corrections. The workflow is seamless; simply add a board and start drawing. You can easily duplicate, copy, paste, and rearrange elements without any hindrances. Metadata can be assigned to each board through the right panel, along with the ability to input timing details and shot types. Create your initial sketches and layouts directly within Storyboarder, and for those needing more precision, just click the button to edit in Photoshop. Each feature is designed to enhance your creative process and make storytelling more accessible.
