Description

RatelKey serves as a self-hosted platform for managing secrets that allows users to securely store and access application secrets without the cumbersome infrastructure typically associated with enterprise solutions. Secrets are securely maintained within your own Burrow instance, while RatelKey facilitates authentication, access management, updates, and overall administration. The platform is equipped with numerous features, including support for various projects and environments, machine identities, role-based access control, IP restrictions, detailed audit logs, canary secrets, encrypted backups, webhooks, SAML/OIDC single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, and both CLI and SDK access. Burrow is versatile enough to function on Linux, Windows, macOS, or within Docker, ensuring that applications can continue to access secrets directly from your infrastructure even in situations where the RatelKey control plane is offline. RatelKey is especially tailored for teams that have surpassed the limitations of using `.env` files and disorganized CI secrets, yet prefer to avoid the intricacies of managing a complex secrets-management system. By streamlining secrets management, RatelKey empowers teams to focus on development without the hassle of maintaining traditional security measures.

Description

Gitleaks serves as a static application security testing (SAST) tool designed to identify and mitigate hardcoded secrets, such as passwords, API keys, and tokens, within Git repositories. This user-friendly, comprehensive tool allows for the detection of secrets that may be embedded in your code, whether they are recent or from the past. You can install Gitleaks through various methods including Homebrew, Docker, or Go, and it is also available in binary format for a wide range of operating systems on its releases page. Furthermore, Gitleaks can be easily set up as a pre-commit hook in your repository, ensuring that secrets are checked before code is finalized. This added layer of security helps maintain the integrity of your codebase while preventing potential leaks of sensitive information.
