Its estimating feature allows contractors to create precise bids swiftly, utilizing customizable cost codes and the ability to calculate markups or margins, as well as accommodating both cost-plus and fixed-price pricing models. Upon approval of an estimate, it transforms into the project budget, ensuring that every bill, invoice, or change order automatically reflects on the budget, enabling contractors to maintain precise job costing and oversight of profitability. Additionally, the platform facilitates payments to subcontractors or suppliers, supporting various methods such as ACH transactions, checks, debit and credit cards, virtual cards, or Zelle, while also enabling clients to pay invoices directly through a user-friendly portal, which accelerates cash flow significantly. Description
PreConstruct AI is an online application designed for construction takeoff and estimating, catering specifically to subcontractors engaged in bidding for interior finishes, concrete, and wood framing projects based on PDF drawing sets. It efficiently interprets drawing scales and utilizes plan notes, schedules, and partition legends to assist in pinpointing and measuring quantities for walls, ceilings, and concrete. Currently in beta, the AI-driven wall suggestions are subject to review and modification by the estimator before final approval. Once quantities are sanctioned, they are transformed into detailed material lists that include items such as studs, boards, insulation, tape, compound, paint, concrete, and rebar, complete with calculations and references to the relevant drawing sheets. Estimators have the flexibility to input their own material prices, generate proposal PDFs, and export the data into Excel or CSV formats. Additionally, the application accommodates projects using imperial, metric, or mixed units. It also streamlines estimating workflows, allowing estimators to meticulously review measurements and quantities prior to bid submission, ensuring accuracy and completeness in their proposals. This functionality supports a broader range of project requirements, enhancing the overall efficiency of the estimating process.
