Description
Welcome to H2, a Java SQL database designed for efficient data management. In its embedded mode, an application can access the database directly within the same Java Virtual Machine (JVM) using JDBC, making it the quickest and simplest connection method available. However, a drawback of this setup is that the database can only be accessed by one virtual machine and class loader at a time. Like other modes, it accommodates both persistent and in-memory databases without restrictions on the number of simultaneous database accesses or open connections. On the other hand, the mixed mode combines features of both embedded and server modes; the initial application that connects to the database operates in embedded mode while simultaneously launching a server to enable other applications in different processes or virtual machines to access the same data concurrently. This allows local connections to maintain the high speed of the embedded mode, whereas remote connections may experience slight delays. Overall, H2 provides a flexible and robust solution for various database needs.
Description
HotKV serves as a commercial, Redis-compatible in-memory data storage solution tailored for both application developers and infrastructure teams. Featuring a C++20 server, it efficiently executes commands utilizing multiple CPU cores and caters to both RESP2 and RESP3 clients, alongside offering persistence, Lua scripting, clustering capabilities, key-value operations, and vector similarity searching. In addition, it includes extra modules for prompt and semantic caching, RAG retrieval, tracking the usage and budgets of LLMs, and memory for AI agents; these AI modules can be accessed through HotKV Cloud’s Performance and Scale plans or via a license for on-premises installations. HotKV Cloud operates as a managed service with dedicated instances, whereas the On-Premise version is compatible with x86_64 or ARM64 Linux systems within a customer’s infrastructure. As Redis command and behavior compatibility may differ, it is crucial for teams to confirm that the necessary commands and features are supported before proceeding with migration, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal performance for their applications. Additionally, the array of features within HotKV allows teams to efficiently manage workloads and enhance their applications’ capabilities.
