Description
Outmake is a Mac application designed to operate OpenAI models directly on the Mac, ensuring that chats, images, and videos remain on the device that created them. It is conveniently located in the notch and can expand into a full window for easier use. The app displays compatible models for the Mac before any downloads occur, enabling users to create and modify images and videos, as well as communicate through listening and speaking capabilities. It is compatible with various AI systems, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and OpenCode, catering to the needs of their users. Currently, Outmake is available in a public beta version for free and is developed by Ambedo Labs based in Utah, requiring macOS 26 or newer and Apple silicon. Users have the option to explore models from Hugging Face and Civitai, and they can utilize local models without needing an Outmake account. However, certain cloud-provider features may necessitate the user to have their own account or API key. Additionally, Outmake operates Claude Code and Codex agents, and it supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool servers, making it a versatile platform. This app aims to empower Mac users interested in local AI applications, enhancing their creative processes, voice interactions, and coding tasks. With its innovative features, Outmake stands out as a valuable tool for those exploring the intersection of technology and creativity on their Mac devices.
