Since there is no unified tape or recognized closing price in the crypto world, the same asset can exhibit varying prices across different platforms simultaneously, leading to increased discrepancies when precision is crucial. Relying on a single-exchange price offers only a limited perspective, complicating the processes of valuation, review of fills, or audits.
We compile real-time pricing from over 70 exchanges covering more than 9,000 instruments, synthesizing this information into a singular reference price for each trading pair. Continuous filtering of outliers takes place, and exchanges that deviate from the market are temporarily excluded until they realign. Our comprehensive methodology is made publicly accessible.
Additionally, we maintain the infrastructure that facilitates the on-chain delivery of this data across the eight leading oracle networks, ensuring that every price we submit meets consensus requirements before being validated.
