Atlas is an online GIS platform tailored for the US onshore oil and gas industry, eliminating the need for installations or desktop licenses. Users can simply sign in to access a comprehensive map displaying well locations, statuses, production data, permits, pipelines, inspections, and emissions. It encompasses a vast network of 2.6 million wells across eight states, including Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Colorado. The platform allows users to search by various criteria such as operator, county, well name, or API number, with each search result displaying a complete record instead of merely linking to a state portal. A significant challenge in the industry is the fragmentation of data, as each state manages its own system with unique schedules and identifiers, complicating cross-state inquiries that require manual reconciliation. Atlas effectively addresses this issue by consolidating data and refreshing it monthly from official agency sources. In addition to core data, Atlas also includes extensive information like Colorado’s emissions, equipment details, and enforcement history, along with Oklahoma’s injection and seismicity records, as well as Pennsylvania DEP’s inspection and waste records. Developed by TetraSoft, a spinoff from Colorado State University, this innovative platform streamlines data access for professionals in the oil and gas sector, enhancing efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
Description
PAVER is a pavement maintenance management system that emerged in the late 1970s to aid the Department of Defense (DOD) in overseeing the upkeep and repair of its vast pavement assets. By leveraging inspection data alongside a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) that ranges from zero (indicating failure) to 100 (indicating excellent condition), it effectively captures pavement statuses and forecasts future maintenance and repair requirements. The PCI for airport pavements was formalized as an ASTM standard in 1993 (D5340-10), and similarly for roads and parking lots in 1999 (D6433-09). PAVER™ conducts various analyses to ensure the effective distribution of maintenance and repair resources. The system's development has received backing from organizations such as the US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, Federal Aviation Administration, and Federal Highway Administration, emphasizing its importance. Furthermore, Colorado State University provides training and technology support services for non-DOD users, enhancing its accessibility. During inspections of concrete pavements, the software also enables users to create graphical representations of individual concrete panels, thus improving clarity in reporting findings. Overall, PAVER plays a crucial role in maintaining pavement quality and ensuring efficient resource utilization across various sectors.
