Product Features
AML
ARGOS ID Check is equipped with AML screening capabilities, ensuring that authorized users are evaluated against sanction and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) lists, with continuous monitoring in place. Results are communicated via webhook, and AML reports can be accessed through the REST API. Additionally, ARGOS Omni serves as a Review Ops Agent, integrating AML screening into the document review process. Its dedicated AML Search - Person and AML - Business systems analyze the individuals and businesses involved in each case, documenting the decisions made and storing the related AML evidence in PDF format alongside the analysis. Cases requiring further assessment are flagged as pending_review and are referred to a human reviewer, facilitating thorough AML case evaluations.
Biometric Authentication
ARGOS ID Check employs facial biometrics in two distinct phases. During the initial onboarding process, it matches a real-time selfie against the ID photo, employing both passive and active liveness detection to prevent the use of photos or deepfakes, alongside checks for duplicate faces across different submissions. Once onboarding is complete, the FaceAuth add-on serves to re-verify users by analyzing a new selfie and comparing it to the previously approved selfie, allowing returning users to be authenticated without needing to scan their ID again. The results from FaceAuth are delivered via webhook, and users have the ability to delete facial images through the API.
Data Extraction
ARGOS offers two innovative products designed to extract structured information from various documents. The first, ARGOS ID Check, specializes in verifying identity documents, utilizing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for data extraction along with checks for Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and the PDF417 barcodes found on driver's licenses. The second product, ARGOS Omni, functions as a Review Ops Agent that processes a wide array of business documents, including PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images, CSV, HTML, and emails. It extracts data in accordance with your specified output schema formatted as JSON, verifies the extracted values against multiple documents, and documents the reasoning and sources for each piece of information. Results are delivered via the Omni REST API and are also compiled into a PDF report. For those interested, the Textify OCR demo remains available for users to test OCR and extraction capabilities on sample documents.
Facial Recognition
ARGOS ID Check is a facial recognition system designed for identity verification purposes. It analyzes a user's selfie by comparing it to the image found on their identification document. The system employs both passive and active liveness detection techniques to ensure that the selfie originates from a real individual, avoiding potential issues with photographs or deepfake technology. Additionally, it performs face-duplication checks to identify instances of the same individual attempting to register multiple times. The FaceAuth add-on utilizes the previously approved selfie for future verifications, ensuring consistent identification. Facial matching can be conducted either within the hosted Liveform or via the Verify engine APIs, with results provided through webhook notifications and REST API.
Fraud Detection
ARGOS ID Check is designed to identify identity fraud during the onboarding process. It examines identification documents for signs of forgery, utilizes ID liveness techniques to identify photocopies and screen replays, and performs both passive and active liveness checks on selfies to filter out photos and deepfakes. Additionally, it detects proxies and VPNs and verifies devices to flag potentially risky sessions. The system also compares new submissions against previous entries by analyzing name, date of birth, gender, and nationality to prevent duplicate sign-ups, while face duplication checks help ensure that the same individual does not register more than once. Once onboarding is complete, the FaceAuth add-on conducts a re-verification of approved users through a new selfie. Decisions regarding cases are guided by ARGOS Score thresholds and custom policy rules, with any unresolved cases marked for further review.
Identity Management
ARGOS ID Check specializes in the identity verification aspect of identity management, ensuring that each new user is a legitimate individual who possesses a valid identification document from over 200 countries. In addition, it conducts screenings against sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) lists while providing continuous monitoring. Following the initial onboarding process, the FaceAuth feature further authenticates an approved user by matching a new selfie against the previously verified selfie, eliminating the need for another ID scan. Identity information is processed and stored in the designated region for each project, and the system includes delete and partial-delete APIs to comply with GDPR and CCPA regulations. ARGOS prioritizes verification rather than the management of login or access.
Identity Verification
ARGOS ID Check offers a comprehensive solution for identity verification, integrating various features such as identification document validation, authenticity assessments, selfie-to-ID facial matching, and both passive and active liveness detection. It also includes anti-money laundering screening with continuous monitoring, all streamlined into a single process. This solution accommodates over 4,000 types of identification documents from more than 200 nations. Teams can implement it as a hosted Liveform (accessible via a single URL in 26 languages, compatible with web and app WebViews) or develop a customized interface using the Verify engine APIs. They can receive results—approved, rejected, or pending—through webhook, return URL, or REST API. ARGOS Score thresholds, an automated-only mode, and customizable policy rules govern decision-making for cases. Furthermore, ID Check holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification.
Intelligent Document Processing
ARGOS Omni serves as a Review Operations Agent specifically designed for document assessment. Teams articulate their evaluation criteria in straightforward language and specify the desired JSON output; Omni then converts these criteria into a comprehensive playbook. For each case, it analyzes the submitted files (including PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images, TXT, Markdown, CSV, HTML, EML), extracts relevant data, compares fields across different documents, verifies completeness of required information, and determines whether submissions are verified, rejected, or pending review. Each extracted data point includes its reasoning and the source step, with results accessible via a REST API and provided in a PDF report format. Common applications include Know Your Business (KYB) document assessments, vendor onboarding processes, corporate telecom subscription evaluations, and insurance claim reviews.
KYB (Know Your Business)
ARGOS Omni conducts thorough reviews of Know Your Business (KYB) documentation for onboarding business customers, including B2B marketplace vendors and merchants. Functioning as a Review Operations Agent, it articulates the KYB review criteria in straightforward language. For each business, it meticulously examines the submitted documents—such as certificates of good standing, IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN) notices, and beneficial ownership certifications for U.S. entities. The system extracts information about the company and its owners, cross-references these details, and screens both the business and its personnel against Anti-Money Laundering (AML) watchlists. Furthermore, it has the capability to validate addresses in 40 different regions. The outcome of the review process is categorized as verified, rejected, or pending review, complete with supporting evidence, and is accessible via a REST API as well as in a PDF report format.
KYC
ARGOS ID Check is a comprehensive KYC/eKYC solution that offers both a product and an API. Its integrated workflow encompasses the verification of ID documents, authenticity assessments, face matching through selfies, and both active and passive liveness detection. Additionally, it performs AML checks against sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) lists, with the capability of ongoing monitoring. The system supports over 4,000 types of ID documents from more than 200 countries, which includes passports, national identification cards, driver's licenses, and residence permits. Users can access the solution via the hosted Liveform, available in 26 languages through a single URL, or through the Verify engine APIs, receiving results that can be approved, rejected, or marked as pending via webhook, return URL, or REST API. The ARGOS Score thresholds and tailored policy rules determine the outcome of each verification, and a migration API is available to facilitate the import of existing verification records.
Liveness Detection
ARGOS ID Check performs liveness verification at two distinct stages. The ID liveness assessment confirms that the presented ID is a genuine physical document, ruling out photocopies or screen displays. Meanwhile, the selfie liveness check, which includes both passive and active methods, ensures that a real individual is positioned in front of the camera, as opposed to a still image or deepfake. This selfie is subsequently compared to the photo on the ID. Liveness checks are executed within the Liveform platform (available in 26 languages, across web and app WebViews) or via the Verify engine's APIs, with results delivered through webhook, return URL, or REST API integration.
OCR
ARGOS specializes in extracting text from identification documents and various business papers. With the capability to identify over 4,000 types of ID documents from more than 200 nations, ARGOS ID Check employs OCR technology for data extraction, conducts MRZ validations, and verifies driver's licenses using PDF417 barcode scanning. Each ID undergoes forgery analysis during the verification process. For additional document types, ARGOS Omni efficiently pulls text from PDFs, scans, images, and office documents, converting the information into structured fields that you specify for easy review and decision-making. You can also test the Textify OCR demo with your own sample files to evaluate OCR and extraction capabilities.
RegTech
ARGOS Identity specializes in developing compliance solutions tailored for regulated onboarding and assessment processes. Their ARGOS ID Check service efficiently manages customer identity verification (KYC), incorporating AML screening and continuous monitoring. The platform ensures compliance with data residency requirements on a project-by-project basis, holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification, and features APIs for handling GDPR and CCPA requests, including options for data deletion and partial deletion. Meanwhile, ARGOS Omni serves as a Review Operations Agent, implementing a team's established review guidelines for various cases, such as KYB document evaluations and AML assessments. It meticulously documents the rules, supporting evidence, and rationale behind each decision, along with the operational playbook at the time of processing. Cases requiring human judgment are flagged as pending_review for further evaluation.
