Description

The Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) empowers organizations to improve the uptime and robustness of their applications by offering tools designed to manage and automate recovery processes across various AWS Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). With features like zonal shift and zonal auto-shift, it can quickly address issues in multi-AZ applications by rerouting traffic from compromised AZs to those that are functioning properly. Additionally, ARC provides routing controls specifically for multi-region applications, ensuring seamless traffic failover between different AWS Regions. To guarantee readiness for recovery, ARC conducts ongoing checks that monitor resource quotas, capacity, and configurations, all while implementing customizable safety measures to avert unintended actions that might extend recovery durations. This comprehensive approach not only enhances application resilience but also reinforces operational efficiency during unexpected disruptions.

Description

FourSight offers a comprehensive multi-region uptime monitoring solution designed to prevent alert fatigue. Each monitoring check is conducted from four different geographical areas—US, Canada, Europe, and Asia-Pacific—and employs a quorum-based consensus policy to verify outages across more than one region before triggering alerts, ensuring that a single unreliable source won't disturb your sleep at 3 AM. The service encompasses eight different types of checks, including HTTP/uptime verification, keyword/content monitoring, SSL certificate expiration tracking, DNS drift detection, domain expiration (RDAP) checks, ping latency assessments, TCP/UDP port evaluations, and heartbeat monitoring for cron jobs and backups. Alerts are dispatched through various channels such as email, Slack, HMAC-signed webhooks, and SMS, with built-in escalation policies and maintenance windows designed to minimize unnecessary noise. Each subscription tier includes public status pages, which can feature white-label options with custom domains for the Scale tier, along with incident management capabilities that include timelines, support for multi-user organizations with defined roles, and comprehensive histories of uptime and latency with regional insights. This robust platform ensures that users can maintain optimal performance without being overwhelmed by alerts.
