Description
AWS Database Migration Service enables swift and secure database migrations to the AWS platform. During this process, the source database continues its operations, which effectively reduces downtime for applications that depend on it. This service is capable of transferring data to and from many of the most popular commercial and open-source databases available today. It facilitates both homogeneous migrations, like Oracle to Oracle, and heterogeneous migrations, such as transitioning from Oracle to Amazon Aurora. The service supports migrations from on-premises databases to Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) or Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), as well as transfers between EC2 and RDS, or even from one RDS instance to another. Additionally, it can handle data movement across various types of databases, including SQL, NoSQL, and text-based systems, ensuring versatility in data management. Furthermore, this capability allows businesses to optimize their database strategies while maintaining operational continuity.
Description
DBConvert is a family of database migration and synchronization tools for specific database pairs. It moves database structure and data between SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite, Microsoft Access, Firebird, IBM DB2, FoxPro, Excel, and compatible cloud databases such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, Supabase, and Neon.
Use DBConvert for one-time migrations or recurring one-way and bidirectional synchronization. It can create a new target database, transfer data into existing tables, and migrate tables, columns, indexes, views, and foreign keys. Synchronization jobs can apply inserted, updated, and deleted records between supported databases.
A visual interface handles table and field mapping, data-type conversion, filters, and record-processing rules without requiring custom migration scripts. Large tables can be processed in parallel, and reusable jobs can be launched manually, on a schedule, or from the command line.
Each edition supports a defined source-and-target combination, so customers can license the database pair required for a particular migration or synchronization project.
