Windocks Description

Windocks provides on-demand Oracle, SQL Server, as well as other databases that can be customized for Dev, Test, Reporting, ML, DevOps, and DevOps. Windocks database orchestration allows for code-free end to end automated delivery. This includes masking, synthetic data, Git operations and access controls, as well as secrets management. Databases can be delivered to conventional instances, Kubernetes or Docker containers.

Windocks can be installed on standard Linux or Windows servers in minutes. It can also run on any public cloud infrastructure or on-premise infrastructure. One VM can host up 50 concurrent database environments. When combined with Docker containers, enterprises often see a 5:1 reduction of lower-level database VMs.

    Windocks: A Superior Container Application

    Summary: As with any IT process the need to reach out for assistance will happen. Windocks Support is incredible. Though there have been few issues throughout the years, they have never failed to respond the same day and resolve situations in a expedient manner.

    Positive: We have been using Windocks for a number of years now. We currently are using 5 Windocks hosts and 40+ containers. To have access to a functional SQL server, for development or trouble-shooting production issues, in minutes is invaluable.

    Negative: I can't think of anything negative to say about Windocks. The installation is extremely easy. The upgrades are timely and useful. We have asked a lot from them feature-wise over the years and they never fail to come through.

    Positive: Very reliable deliver of SQL Server database environments with cloned databased.

    Great for automating dev/test database provisioning!

    Summary: Windocks has totally streamlined updating our dev & test environments both automated and on-demand. Tech support was great in getting us set up. (Thanks, Vinod!) Also, Paul was super helpful in sharing experiences of other Windocks customers so we could have the right conversations here internally to modernize our practices.

    Positive: - concept of "database containers" to isolate enable each dev and test to work in their own writable environments
    - easy application of access controls so devs only access their designated environments
    - database cloning to minimize disk space associated with instances
    - familiar docker commands to environments to be updated frequently and automatically

    Negative: - cultural change to automate what used to be manually done by our DBA. Had to sell this internally to the team, but it was totally worth it in the end.
    - some initial time needed to set this up just right to automate what we wanted. Once set up, it just runs flawlessly.
